206 response for Chrome Mobile
Doesn't the missing "Accept-Ranges" in response inform the client to
resend the request without Range:?
I think only the file server would serve partial content in this way, as
the streaming server implies partial content as part of its protocol.
Anyway, the response seems as requested. 0 (empty) or 1 bytes partial
content was requested, and empty response returned.

Having icecast SSL connection problem
I have been trying to get icecast 2.4.2 to stream with ssl to https. But so far I have had no luck.
I am running Ubuntu 16.04 and the regular stream is working properly over port 80. I want to stream securely over port 443. I need to use 443 because of network rules here. I can view the Icecast2 Status pages and listen to a stream, but once I add https:// I get 'Secure Connection Failed'

fts-solr: Returning 400 on searches; unescaped braces
Using Debian, dovecot-solr 1:2.2.26.0-4, and solr-tomcat 3.6.2+dfsg-9, I
am getting 400 errors when doing searches. Here is an example search
query from dovecot that failed (captured with wireshark):

Icecast 2.4.3 stop play on https
Hi,
We use Icecast 2.4.3 and SSL streaming for a long time on CentOS 6 and
7.
The last time we have some problems on playing 192k mp3 on https.
The stream play 2 second and stop, on http we have not that problem. (we
restart the encoder, but same problem)
(we use a jPlayer and direct stream url in chrome)
We check on the error log, but no errors and in the access log we see:

Trying to build ices-0.4 on ubuntu and "libshout not usable"
Hello:
I hope someone can take a look at this and give me a little push to get
me past this logjam.
I've been running icecast + ices-0.4 + a perl application developed
internally which runs an mp3 stream for a number of years.
I am migrating my server from CentOS to ubuntu so I can upgrade to Perl
5.18 (so as to get clean unicode processing for another application.) I
have installed

Apple movie trailers on Centos6/Firefox
Hi all!
Once again, Apple has messed with their trailers/website such that I can
no longer play their trailers on Centos 6 (note that it still works
fine on my two Fedora machines, F17 and F19, without any special
settings.
on Centos, I've long ago found that by setting the user agent to certain
values I could make it work, but now that no longer helps. when I try
to view a trailer all I get

Originating Client Request
Hi,
I''m a newbie to Mongrel, so apologies if this is a dumb question.
I''m trying to write a Mongrel handler to give my the *raw* client
request, however all I seem to be able to get is the CGI headers using
the Mongrel API.
I want to be able to capture the originating request, not the CGI
version as it may contain issues (like case, underscore''s rather than

Select mp3 files not playing Chrome
I am new to the list and Icecast, a web developer and I support a local
non-profit radio station who recently lost their engineer handling
stream recordings using Icecast/Darkice. All has been fine and I have
now a bit of experience with doing the recent schedule changes, only
updated cron jobs, but familiarized myself with streamripper being used
for recordings. I do manage the ruby scripts

Prototype 1.4.0_pre4 + script.aculo.us 1.5_pre4?
Hello,
I''m maintaining the PEAR-installable PHP packages for both script.aculo.us
and Prototype on Pearified.com.
I saw the 1.5_pre4 release of script.aculo.us yesterday, and would like to
release the update on Pearified.com, but don''t want to release hacked
versions of Prototype.
I saw that Prototype was updated to 1.4.0_pre4 yesterday as well ... Is that
a suitable package

Now playing (PHP example)
This php script is also good for displaying a now playing title on your station's website.
It is not an auto refreshing script so the page would have to be refreshed manually by the visitor when the song changes.
Script follows:
<?php
function getMp3StreamTitle($streamingUrl, $interval, $offset = 0, $headers = true)
{
$needle = 'StreamTitle=';
$ua = 'Mozilla/5.0

[LLVMdev] wrong guessed OS platform
Hi,
http://llvm.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=clang
thinks that I am running on a PC with OS of "all".
My user agent string on my browser is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_5; en-us) AppleWebKit/
526.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0dp1 Safari/526.11.2
Isn't that enough to know that this is Mac OS X running version 10.5.5 ?
:-)
Thanks,
Dan

Hey Folks,
There''s a nasty little bug in 0.3.13.3 when running in development mode
which could cause all sorts of problems.
Please grab the pre-release of 0.3.13.4 and tell me if it works for you:
gem install mongrel --source=http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/releases/
Thanks!

Problem with HTTP stream but not HTTPS.
If you use Chrome, recent updates won't allow connections to an http
server if the referring url is on an https server.
I wonder how much additional CPU strain this causes when you have a few
hundred plus listeners to encrypt everything. Anyway, this is the way it
is now, unless you use the likes of .pls/.m3u files with the http server
link for an external player.
Cheers,
Gavin.

Is Centos 5.5 too old fro Google Chrome?
I tried to install Google Chrome and received the dependencies
error. Is Centos too old for the new Chrome or is there an older
Chrome version that is compatible?
