a new directory service
Hello. About your idea, I think that it is important for a radio to "check" multiple styles. I'm planning to cast a couple or 3 of stations that are _not_ monographic and will be "sports" from x to y hours, "pop" from y to z hours, "talk" from z to p hours and so on. That is because people that are listening the same genre for hours want to change. Why

The reason why it is so hotly debated, is because it is important. what is needed is a way to measure the popularity of a station. What I want

Hello, Icecast is a great project but there is one big problem left ! We can't register into shoutcast directory which is the mosted used radio directory in the world. So this realy difficult to find more listeners... After many search, I was thinking that the only way to get our radio into shoutcast directory was to setup a shoutcast relay using our icecast server. Unfortunatly it seams

problem creating a systemd service
Hello! Icecast behaves oddly for me in debian testing, somehow the permissions on my log file directory was set to root:adm if I remember things right. Also there was no systemd service starting when I tried to start from /etc/init.d, somehow init services refer to systemd services nowadays whether they exist or not. I tried to create a systemd service looking like this: [Unit]

I have been trying to get my station listed in the icecast directory. I would appreciate someone reviewing this to see what is wrong. I've studied the documentation and I think I am doing what is required, but my station is not showing up in the icecast yp directory. I'm using icecast 2.3.2 I have the directory entry in the icecast.xml config file: <directory>

Problem connecting to icecast2
I'm no expert on Ices0.3 but that config doesn't look right to me. I'm guessing that it's imperative to have the server config as part of the stream section since you can have multiple streams from one source going to multiple destinations (I think anyways.. :) Take a look at my config for ices0.3 below : --------------------------------------------------- <?xml

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
it was fixed a long time ago actually. The current YP is now benefitting from the changes made by me (with help from Karl), and yet despite the requests from both Karl and I recommending that these streams be allowed again, it falls on deaf ears. Ultimately it's up to Xiph to decide, although I was hoping that when the objection "it performs badly so we turned off all non-vorbis
