iPhone patches question
When the Tuner2 iPhone Player hits the Apple iTunes Apps Store, this should solve everyone's player problem: http://www.indexcom.com/iphone.html There is a lot of information on this page. It tells an interesting story about audio quality. This player is not an Orban project. -greg. ORBAN At 18:16 2009-03-16, oddsock wrote: >As of right now, you are out of luck in terms of instream

iPhone patches question
As of right now, you are out of luck in terms of instream metadata with the embedded quicktime player that's distributed with the iphone OS. As Christopher says, there are many ways to get the same effect, but they ALL require you to build custom iPhone apps. There are a whole mess of radio apps out there, and they are all pretty similar, and NONE of them use the embedded quicktime object.

patch for native iphone support
Here is a patch for icecast 2.3.2 that adds support for listening to mp3 and aac+ streams on the iphone. A quick background on the technical aspects of the patch and why it is needed : With the advent of 3g on the iphone, lots of people have been jumping on the bandwagon of providing internet radio streams that work on the iPhone. The biggest problem is that (without having to install an

Icecast Streaming to an iPhone or iPod touch
Hello everyone, I have created a patch that allows an iPod touch or iPhone with "CoreMedia" to receive Icecast streams directly from the server. I did modify the original patch from the mailing list to include user agent switching for CoreMedia vs. other browsers. Please let me know how it works. I have been streaming a local weather radio on Icecast with the iPhone patch (attached)

Streaming AAC with libshout?
Hi, I am wondering how to add AAC support to GStreamer's shout2send element. Support for this format seems to be enabled in icecast for a while and it would be nice if one of the major open source frameworks would have been capable of streaming such content. GStreamer's shout2send relies on the libshout library but it defines only two formats - MP3 and Vorbis. There is no single word in

Icecast2 Server - AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus Support
Hello- You guys have done an excellent job with the Icecast2 server. I probably don't need to tell you that, but I did anyway. We are Coding Technologies licensees and have recently developed a streaming audio encoder supporting AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus using RTSP/RTP, SHOUTcast HTTP/ICY, and Icecast2 HTTP/ICY, Orban Opticodec-PC. cross-compiling nut
Hello, I would like to run nut 2.6.1 on an embeeded machine ( arm9 ) running linux and uclibc. A working gcc tool chain came with the board. How can I compile and build nut using the cross compiler tool chain ? I know that this is not a very specific question. I have however little experience with cross compiling, and I wonder where to start. A logical point would be the configure script. It

FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
A FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for Microsoft Windows Media Player that fully supports the Icecast2 Server is available for download here: http://www.orban.com/plugin FYI: This plugin supports .asx for Windows Media Player NOT .pls or .m3u. Also streams can be opened directly by using newly created UIL redirectors, e.g., icyx:// instead of http:// and rtpx:// instead of rtsp://. This is all covered

Can't change server_URL data
Hi all, I'm using the Orban aacplus encoder, which sends the stream to my Icecast server. The Orban encoder allows one to set the station name, stream title etc but there is no place for the station url, I suspect this has been hardcoded in as I've noticed a number of other stations using Orban's encoder also have links back to their web site. Is there a way to change or overide this

FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
Ok, I read the Read Me. So icyx://boa.mediacast1.com:9292/stream.aac works. I don't understand why the http syntax cannot be made to work. This works fine for Ogg Vorbis streams using the Illumination DirectShow filter. AW: Problems with installation
ok - I tried this too. But CentOS tries to find the floppy as /dev/hda which is not the device for the USB-Floppy. Dell ships one with the server because no one is integrated. So when I try to include the driver disk the installer is not able to find it. -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: centos-bounces at centos.org [mailto:centos-bounces at centos.org] Im Auftrag von Jim Perrin Gesendet:

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp. Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict. This might actually be by design. I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow. I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete clarification. FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac or aacp. aac is
