iPhone patches question
When the Tuner2 iPhone Player hits the Apple iTunes Apps Store, this
should solve everyone's player problem:
http://www.indexcom.com/iphone.html
There is a lot of information on this page. It tells an interesting
story about audio quality.
This player is not an Orban project.

iPhone patches question
As of right now, you are out of luck in terms of instream metadata with the
embedded quicktime player that's distributed with the iphone OS. As
Christopher says, there are many ways to get the same effect, but they ALL
require you to build custom iPhone apps. There are a whole mess of radio
apps out there, and they are all pretty similar, and NONE of them use the
embedded quicktime object.

iPhone patches question
Hi Bob,
I am thinking that metadata could be streamed to the iPhone with some additonal work. There are some possible methods including wrapping a custom interface (either a Web App or iPhone SDK App) to check with a server script to grab metadata and display it as its streaming the Icecast MP3 Format.
For example:
There would be two domains such as icecast.server and metadata.server on the

patch for native iphone support
Here is a patch for icecast 2.3.2 that adds support for listening to mp3 and
aac+ streams on the iphone.
A quick background on the technical aspects of the patch and why it is
needed :
With the advent of 3g on the iphone, lots of people have been jumping on the
bandwagon of providing internet radio streams that work on the iPhone. The
biggest problem is that (without having to install an

Add-on patch to support .pls .asx .ram .qtl listing formats
Hi,
If you have multiple players installed on your PC/Mac .m3u will always
open the last media player who are the default in charge of the extension
and mime m3u.
On your web site you want maybe to force a link to open real media player
or quicktime/itune. You need to create a .pls to force winamp loading the
streaming because windows media player won't open .pls etc.
If you add a .pls

Share an easiest way to enjoy all music/video on iPod/iPhone
As an iPod fans, I had been always troubled in putting the music/video on my iPod until I have used a best iPod video converter (http://www.4easysoft.com/ipod-video-converter.html). This is what I?d like to share with all the ipod users.
Firstly, we should know what format that ipod can support:
Video:MP4;H.264; MPEG-4
Audio: AAC;MP3;M4V;WAV; AIFF
Picture: JPEG;BMP;GIF;TIFF;PSD

Problems streaming just one file, yet /default works fine.
Hi:
first off, it's probably simplest to use your webserver to serve the file.
Second, you need to use a playlist file (pls) or mpegurl (m3u) to launch
your player. I've not messed with the static streaming in icecast 1.x but
this seems to be what it is trying to do, by generating an.pls file on the
fly.
Here's a worked example. You have a webserver running. You have a file

Saw an OGV/Ffmpeg player for Iphone , can you test?
hello , I m' not sure there are a lot of Ipad/iphone owners but maybe some
of you can confirm that this GPL/3$ app can :
- play ogv theora files downloaded from the Web with Safari?
- Play in a browser via <video> ( I doubt ...)

Problem in iPhone streaming
Hi,
i'm developing an internet radio client for iPhone and as server is
used Icecast2. My problem is that every time when client connects to
some source(mount) Icecast2 sends correct HTTP 1.0 header and after
header delimiter(two empty lines(\r\n\r\n)) should be data ( mp3
samples). But every time in the first packet in the beginnig of data
section there are some bytes to which

Can't play from iPhone
I am having a terrible time getting an iPhone to connect to my stream.
I am trying to connect through just a normal web browser (Safari) to my
icecast 2.4.4 server. When I connect to the web page, the iphone
doesn't see the <audio> tag on the stream. I think safari doesn't
recognize application/ogg as a mime type, which is what icecast 2.4.4's
web server puts on it. When I

Still the big Icecast problem!
If propagation of Ogg Vorbis is the (or a) goal of Icecast then
probably the best strategy is to build an embedded Ogg Flash Player of
some sort, so that people unwittingly become Ogg users without lifting
a finger, and broadcasters can start using it without fear that they'll
lose listeners due to their protocol choice. I've been streaming for
more than 7 years now with Quicktime,

Serving a playlist.pls / listen.m3u file
Hi - I've heard that Icecast provides a fake "playlist file" along the lines of
http://blahblah:8000/listen.m3u
or
http://blahblah:8000/playlist.pls
because Quicktime can't seem to handle the stream without a playlist
file to wrap it up. (There may be other reasons.) However, I can't
seem to find any documentation about this, and guessing various URLs
on my icecast2.0.1

Theora on iPhone
I posted a while back "complaining" about lack of a theora player on the
iPhone. Porting the code for libtheora (and libogg/libvorbis) was
(relatively) painless, and appears to be working. I'm up against a tougher
challenge now... rendering the video!
I tried using the brand-new SOC-funded SDL port to iphone to get the
"player_example.c" code up and running, but ran into

ices 0.3 released
Actually I think there is already allot of mainstream support for the
format?
In fact many large Gaming developers including EA and Sierra use the format
to drive audio in their gamning - there is allot of hardware supporting the
format as well and many player solutions in place that support it -
However the issue of most concern to me is although for localised encoding
