Chinese character is not shown properly for some programs
Just dived into linux recently and spent a whole day on trying geing chinese programs working properly in wine. The situation is that some chinese programs (like eMule) display Chinese character very nicely while some others can not.
Here is the screenshot:

Multiple custom CSS for Formtastic
Inside stylesheets I have formtastic.css and formtastic_changes.css.
In formtastic_changes.css I have a custom with:
form.formtastic { width: 700px; etc..
It is working ok but now in only one page only, need a narrower form,
say 530. So I need to have two width set up.
What is the best way to do this? I mean I do not want to change the
other forms in the project, I just want to change the

A new version of paran is available
Horn's parallel analysis method of deciding how many factors to retain has
been implemented in R in the paran package. This update to paran adds an
option to produce a graph of the analysis along the lines of what Horn
presented in his seminal 1965 paper. It also makes a few minor improvements
to the formatting of the program's output.

draggables in IE visible outside div with overflow=hidden
Hi All
I have a series of images that I''m showing in a table inside a <div>
with overflow:auto on. Each of the images is a dragable. In firefox this
works as expected (if the image list is longer than the div scroll bars
appear to scroll the div and scrolling works). However in IE the images
are shown outside the containing div and the scroll bar does nothing

data in form of a date
Dear all,
I often use dates and times in analyses. I just can't figure out how to
format my date or time column in R. So, apparently R sees the date as
something other than date (character). Let's say I am opening a CSV
file, one of the columns of which is a date or time. How do I specify
that when opening the file?

Problem with sync files when no dir in the destin
Hi i'm a new user but rsync is easy and a great tool
I have a folder caled source and a folder caled destini, like this

Symbols On a Capscale Object Biplot
Hi, I'm a beginner with R, but I'm getting excellent results with it.
Well I've got an capscale object (vegan package) and I want to made a biplot
with symbols representing six groups of areas.
With the plot.cca function and some par attributes (like 'labels') I was

linux media player as default media player for WINE

First post, so please be nice ; )
I am trying to set my linux vlc as default media player for wine. I am
trying to do that because i use a software called TVAnts to tune tv
channels and I would like to skip one step of the process which is
starting vlc or any other media player and point it to the address of
the stream. something like:

I migrate my server POP3/IMAP recently the Courier-IMAP for Dovecot and
am having
problems when the user configures your e-mail client to leave a copy of
mail on the server.
All mail in the inbox, are brought all the time that you check your mailbox
input via POP3, causing a large traffic of unnecessary data every time.
