shout python
Hi, I discovered shout-python. I use it to straem theora to an icecast server. But works quite right except some times, it hangs, with no reasons. I built it against libshout 2.2 The server i an IceCast 2.3.1 I have some notes: The stream type, in the example could be vorbis | mp3. Wouldn't it be the time to change it to ogg | mp3? As well as theora can be in a ogg. Is there any known

lots of icecast help needed
Hi, I've been running Icecast on my server for over five months now and am having lots of problems with it. I must have pulled out half of my hair on this product, mostly due to lack of support. (I mean, have you ever gotten an answer to your question at icecast.org?) I've tried it all: sc_serv, Icecast, shout, ices, streamcast, liveice. I could greatly use any help. I am using the

OGG streaming and Icecast2
Hi All, I recently just took the time to play with the OGG format and compare it to mp3..and my conclusion is: SWEEEEET Where can I learn about writing a source for Icecast2? I written sources for Shoutcast..that was pretty straight forward..rip through an mp3 file and send the bytes to shoutcast at specific intervals. OGG is VBR...so I'm having trouble wrappign my head around how I shoudl

intended login protocol for icecast2
well, don't get me wrong, I am not generally opposed to progress, but speaking as a coder of source clients, providing yet another authentication mechanism is a bit frustrating.... I guess it wasn't too bad having to deal with Shoutcast/Icecast/Icecast2 specific connection protocols (yes they are ALL different!) but I am NOT going to support Shoutcast/ICecast/Icecast2 (ICE

libshout2 (perl) + shoutcast: bitrate
Hi, currently I'm plaing around with the original shoutcast and use libshout for transmitting to the server. It works mostly perfect, with one little problem: The streams bitrate is not correctly reported to shoutcast. I tried the following: $conn->set_audio_info(SHOUT_AI_BITRATE => 128); $conn is the shout-object. Is this for icecast only? Is there another way to transmit the correct

Live stuff -- voice to music to voice etc. ?
Hi all, I have the Icecast2 server running perfectly and the iceS streamer feeding it either /dev/dsp or a playlist of ogg files, depending on which config I run iceS with (I have three config files: one for live, one for music, and one default (current)). I'm using Slackware w/the 2.4.22 kernel. The problem I'm having is perhaps theoretical: how can I talk a little, play some

Icecast SSL endpoint timeout issue
Hi team, Please accent my apologies if this is NOT the place/distro list to be raising this. I had major dramas with the standard forum - registration and decided this may be a better route. My current instance icecast server has been built with --with-curl --with-openssl options as outlined within this post: https://weekly-geekly.github.io/articles/350236/index.html and the build version is

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc broken in iPhone SDK?
There's an error trying to build a "hello world" project out of the box when selecting LLVM from the list of compilers in iPhone SDK: http://arrelid.com/archive/2009/01/15/xcode-iphone-sdk-llvm-gcc-fixing-what-apple-forgot This is on XCode 3.1.2, iPhone SDK 2.2.1 . The blogger suggests what looks like a hack -- is there a proper solution to this? Is llvm-gcc just missing a header

More libshout questions
Okay, I am using libshout to stream to a NullSoft Shoutcast server. I am using libmad and libmp3lame to do re-encoding on the fly. I am streaming to the server (currently) with shout_send_raw(). When I try to use shout_metadata_add(), I get a segfault in strdup(). Anyone have any ideas as to why? Everything else works fine, just not the metadata. Thanks In Advance, Deven --- >8 ----

win32 SDK call for help
Ok, so I've taken hold of this, and since this appears to be the only thing holding up 1.0.1, I have done what I think closes the loop...Based on the conversations here on the list I have made the following changes to the vc6 project files : - consistent runtime linking. They are ALL now using the Multithreaded static runtime. Hopefully this makes the generated DLLs the most portable. -

matrox rt.x100
Hi, I got a Matrox RT.X100 Pro capture card to make a live video streaming with it. The concert to be streamed will be on Saturday... I have a Linux-based server running Icecast 2.3, so I need to make this computer with the Matrox card to work with the Icecast server. I'd prefer Ogg Theora. Unfortunately there's no Linux support for this card, so the only choice I have is Windows XP.

Announcing Version 2.0.0 of Icecast
After many years of development and testing, icecast has finally moved to 2.0.0. What's new in 2.0 ? * completely rewritten codebase from 1.x - highly efficient and low memory usage. * addition of new media types (Ogg Vorbis) and a framework to add new ones easier. Icecast still supports MP3 streaming as well (including shoutcast-style metadata) * a web-based administration

Streaming
Hi, I am using a ccRTP to provide streaming over RTP. I would like to know if Ices0 could be used to send MP3 Streaming for a Player. I need fragments MP3 file to streaming, so I think that IcesO does it. I am not sure but I understood that Ices0 does the stream to Icecast server send. Regards, Flavio

[fdo] Freedesktop sdk aka 'tiny base runtime' project
Hi all, So i wanted to kick off this mailing list by trying to round up a few things which have been discussed recently, at GUADEC, in f2f conversations afterwards, or shot over emails between a few people. It's been discussed for a while that we want to create a tiny base runtime with bst. The upshot is this will homogenize the metadata used in the build process for Flatpak, GNOME

Ogg Vorbis SDK.
Hi, I've started making an Ogg Vorbis SDK, as per IRC topic instructions :) Some questions: Its just targetting MSVC right? Not borland/whatever? Should it install the headers/libraries in the msvc dir (c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\(Include|Lib)), or should it put them in the same directory as the document (c:\Program Files\Ogg Vorbis SDK\(Include|Lib)), and have the sample
