What will happen if the source will kick the icecast server

This presumes one is using a master/slave setup, does it not? I got the
impression this was just a specific relay of one stream. I would hope that
it would just reconnnect.

shoutcast to icecast2 issues
relaying a shoutcast stream via icecast2 is pretty much unlistenable --
it constantly stutters.
for example,
shoutcast relay -- http://205.188.234.1:8030/listen.pls
icecast2 relay -- http://liveradio.indymedia.org:8001/sf-hifi.mp3.m3u

Icecast embeddable ?
Hello all,
I'm quit new to icecast, but I have project dealing with streaming (currently
only audio) for web radio, and I would love to use the icecast protocol as it
already has everything I need.
But, In order to be usable for us, we need to be able to 'embed' the icecast
server (in a dll or statically) in our program, and control it programatically.
We need his to reconfigure the

shoutcast to icecast2 issues
btw i just noticed that the icecast2 relay sounds fine in whamb (mac os
x mp3/ogg client). so it does seem that some clients don't have the
problem. here's the relay configs we're using:
<relay>
<server>server.to.be.relayed</server>
<port>8000</port>
<mount>/</mount>

solution for YP problem
I wanted to let folks know that I had a problem with
unreliable, and mostly dysfunctional listing of a server's
mounts on YP directories. This server has a few dozen mounts.
If all the relays and sources were connected, YP wouldn't
work; if only some were connected, YP would start working. I
had to increase the <yp-url-timeout> for all the <yp-url>'s to
a much larger

Icecast2 Relays/Mounts - Adding without Restarting Server
Is it at all possible to add Icecast2 Relays or Mounts without having
to restart the server, and thus drop all the other existing
connections in the process?
Thanks.

relay & fallback timeout issue
i have two icecast servers on the same host (logging to the same file)
one is a public server that people connect to
one is a backend switcher to switch what they listen to and handle fallbacks.
when a source or relay times out, the public server disconnects at the same time that the backend server switches to the fallback.
what is the best way to deal w/ this? increase the source timeout on the

What will happen if the source will kick the icecast server
Hello,
I'm running icecast 2.2.0 as a relaying server(for an internet radio
station);as you know, it is permanently connected to that source. What will
happen if the source will kick my server(hopefully not ban it ;) )? It will
try to reconnect or it will remain disconnected ?
Thank you.

alias mount points
Hi,
I am trying to get my head around a problem I have. First let me tell
you my goal.
I want to setup a site where I can allocate 2 hour time slots to anyone
that wants to play there tunes. My idea was to setup a number of mount
point, each with a username and password and dish these out, along with
a allocated time slot to the DJ's that have booked. This can all be done
with a wee bit of

FW: Multi-Level Fallbacks
Hi,
I have used the SVN icecast-2.1-trunk version in my production system at
http://audioserver.nl for 2 months now without problems. The fallbacks work
fine as long as you make sure that the format (sampling frequency and
bitrate) of the mount and it's fallback match.
I have also patched the icecast-2.1-trunk version (patch not published yet,
needs work to extract) to enable fallback of

Adding authenticated mountpoints
OK, so let me check I understand how the timing must work:
0) New user joins the jukebox and wants to start listening to music.
Jukebox app selects a mountpoint name, user ID and password
1) Modify the icecast.conf file with the new mountpoint
2) Send HUP to icecast
3) Set up username:password for new stream
4) Create new stream's ices.conf file
5) Spawn new instance of ices to stream

Bugs:
Relays ignore the hidden flag
HUPing icecast puts icecast in a strange state where it doesn't
actually take account of the conf changes, and also won't terminate on a
TERM and needs a KILL - but it does still "work" otherwise.

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Great.
Wonder if Oddsock can make a new exe?
Also, if using the Intro feature and Relays, I assume that I need to define
the intros on the slaves, not the master?
Thanks,
Fred

multiple users - auth'd source?
Hi,
I am trying to bring up an Icecast service for users of a free & paid
subscription system.
Paid users can source a stream. Free signups can listen (auth) to the
paid user's streams.
My user data is in LDAP mainly, but I have a URI that returns
"icecast-auth-user: 1" when passed the user= and pass= variables on the
HTTP GET.
AFAICT - the source password has to be
