Ices2 and Jack
>From what I have read on some mailing lists, there is a jack module for ices2 that works quite well. Why isn't this information on the ices2 web page or documentation? Ices is useless to me without this, yet so awesome with it. I saw requests from people for you to do this over a month ago. What's the problem? Thanks, Daniel P.S. I couldn't search this list to find out if

Aliassing Icecast 2.1 Admin console
Hello, We are searching for a possibility of "aliassing without wasting bandwidth". It is described in the following section which we found at http://open4all.info/ossa/_Icecast_Streaming_Server. # What happens is that when a listeners connects to your server and # requests the /laika stream, then your icecast server will connect # as a client to my machine, and then feed my stream to

Speex (source) client?
As you know, Winamp relies on the file extension to know what input plugin to utilize for the audio decoding. The input plugin for .ogg files (in_vorbis.dll) needs to understand the other ogg container formats but it doesn't as it is a vorbis only decoder. So the only solution is for Ogg Speex to have a different extension so this can be appended to the mountpoint, and an input plugin

Speex client?
Hello, On the announcement page for Icecast 2.3 it mentions "Streaming support for ogg speex, ogg flac, ogg midi". I've googled around and not found any free clients that support streaming speex. I looked at svn for libshout2 and it doesn't seem to support speex and skimming through the list archives I only see mention of speex last February, which seemed to indicate it would

Possible ICES/Icecast bug
Hi, I wonder if you can help. I am running Icecast 2.4.4, Ices 2.0.2 and libshout 2.4.3. There has been a recent upgrade to libshout and I notice that my previous ices configuration no longer works. In the ices log I get the error message: [2019-07-10 11:10:30] INFO ices-core/main IceS 2.0.2 started... [2019-07-10 11:10:30] INFO signals/signal_usr1_handler Metadata update requested [2019-07-10

Client development
Hi, I?ve been tasked with developing an Icecast broadcast client for iOS. I am not sure how to get started. Ideally, I?d like to get my hands on documentation that describes the Icecast API. Otherwise, if there is a code example in either C, C++ or Obj-C, that should be enough to get me started. I don?t need help figuring out how to generate the audio stream, as I already know how to do that; I

CVS changes
To all CVS users of ices 0.x: I've just merged the ices-libshout_2 branch onto HEAD. Anyone using that branch should switch back to HEAD to continue to get the latest updates. This also means you now need the latest version of libshout2 from CVS in order to build ices from CVS. libshout2: :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.xiph.org:/usr/local/cvsroot libshout ices:

I am new to linux so please be forgiving. I downloaded both ices and libshout. I tried to compile with "--with-shout-config=/etc/stream" but this returned the same result as in the previous email:
