AW: Howto recieve a header or something for icecaststations
>You will always receive HTTP headers when you connect, never just the raw >bitstream. Perhaps you're doing something else wrong - Oddsock, Mike, Thank you. I was the fool (maybe not enough sleep:-). Because the shoutcast servers at shoutcast.com never sent any useful data in the "real" http header I just threw it away and always looked at the following data (where

Icecast Server API
Hi, i know, that i maybe break all rules regarding mailing lists etc, but I hope, I can get an answer from you for this question: Is there an API do received the current listed stations? We want to implement Icecast into a audioplayer and for that we have to download the current stations list (is that allowed?) So I?m searching similar function like Shoutcast offers: Description: Get

Geoblocking on Icecast stations (radionomy)
Hi, I stumpled upon Icecast, but I effectively can only play few stations because somehow most of the stations that I'm interested in use the radionomy service. After some research I found out that I'm not the only one and that this company is blocking many countries worldwide: https://www.google.com/search?q=this+radio+station+is+not+available+in+your+country+site:board.radionomy.com

Icecast Station Browser for Winamp Media Library...
There has been a lot of talk lately about the Icecast YP, and also the fact that Shoutcast has started to refuse listings of mp3pro streams...so given a bit of free time on my hands (yes occasionally it happens) I wrote this -> http://www.oddsock.org/tools/ml_icecastlist/. It's only for winamp users, and it integrates the icecast YP into the Winamp Media Library...Who da thought that

Question about buffering with icecast protocol
Hi, I?ve seen that shoutCAST sends data much faster than real time when you connect (for a while I assume, otherwise you?d be travelling to the future:). That?s useful for fast buffering. With icecast I don?t get that behavior, stream downloads at real time. Is there a way to buffer data faster than real time? Maybe a ?seek? feature? I need that because I need to allocate a special large

Re-Assembling SongData in Icecast Streams..
Like any other major radio station we output our music from automation software via analog audio through a mix board in a studio, where we insert other stuff like live DeeJays, etc. only to have that stream re-encoded by hardware MP3 encoders for distribution to our network of IceCast servers. The chain of song information gets broken as soon as we output from the Automation software,

Question about buffering with icecast protocol
OK, Thanks a lot Karl and Elf. It's clear to me now. Shoutcast gives you (by default) a much larger burst and that's the difference I was seeing. By the way: do you know sources for lists of stations? I see a "stream directory" at icecast.org, but I don't know if it's available to download (I think using a program to dig the info from the web is not ethical, as least

relaying IceCast from ShoutCast
This is killing me... I've tried everything I can think of, but Icecast still crashes if I define more than 10 listen-socket ports. Is there a limit that's not documented or is this a bug? I'm using the latest Windows build that OddSock compiled. Thanks for any help/ideas Fred -----Original Message----- From: Fred Black [mailto:fred@batanga.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2005

add AAC+ file header to new streams
Hi all. I believe there is an opportunity to have thousands of Shoutcast servers replaced with Icecast. What will do this is if Icecast can send a MPEG-4 AAC+ header as the first data a player receives when connecting to an audio/aacp stream. The reason for this is the AAC+ support added to Adobe Flash player last December. I could hear a loud sigh of relief each around the world when this was

Errors using icecast!
Good day, I have been using Icecast 2.3.1 for sometime now, but recently I have not been able to run SAM broadcaster using Icecast. Sam says that my mount is inactive because it can't be found. Is there a problem with Icecast? I have heard that spacial audio has gone to shoutcast. What can you do to help me set up Icecast to run radio stations? I have tried all the forums, but nothing

Unofficial Icecast HOWTO posted
Howdy. I just posted an unofficial HOWTO on configuring icecast2 on a Linux or other UNIX machine. It's just a draft in DocBook format, but I was hoping it might help someone. I've worked enough with icecast over the past few years that I thought it time to share what I've learned. The URL is as follows: http://quasi.ksl.com/icecast/ I have older documentation in

icecast acceptable headers
the problem is probably that nsvcap most likely tries to attach using the "shoutcast source" protocol, which is some strange variation of HTTP (but definitely not HTTP).... It's strange-ness and non-HTTP-ness is the reason why icecast doesn't support connecting the Shoutcast DSP to it. So I don't think any magical combination of headers will get live NSV

trouble in nullsoft land.
Brainstorming Idea: Possibly add an xml api to the current yp logic, that way 3rd party providers could parse the stations in the yp off icecast.org in there media players. of course a plugin for winamp would be the first obvious choice(since the already have there own media library but uses yp.shoutcast.com), but others would follow. I remember seeing something previously at dir.xiph.org but
