libshout 2.0 released
Hi all,
I've just released libshout 2.0. This is the official release, not a
beta. Thanks to all the testers who provided feedback during the beta
period.
http://icecast.org/files/libshout/libshout-2.0.tar.gz
Libshout 2.0 adds support for icecast 2, Ogg streaming, and IPv6, as
well as bug fixes relative to libshout 1. Ogg and Vorbis are now
prerequisites.

Possible ICES/Icecast bug
Hi,
I wonder if you can help. I am running Icecast 2.4.4, Ices 2.0.2 and
libshout 2.4.3. There has been a recent upgrade to libshout and I
notice that my previous ices configuration no longer works. In the
ices log I get the error message:

icecast - libshout and ices
Hello,
can anyone help me please?
I have installed libxml2, libogg, libvorbis, and then i have cvsed and
installed libshout (autogen.sh && make && make install).
Then I cvsed ices and tried to run autogen.sh. It just quit with:
checking for shout-config... /usr/local/bin/shout-config
checking libshout settings
Using libshout config in /usr/local/bin/shout-config

Icecast Problems Get Worse
The Icecast problems I mentioned yesterday on our new server are getting
worse.
This time the server only stayed up for about 30 minutes before dying (no
more music - process is still running). Obviously this won't fly.
Again, ices reports:
Error during send: Libshout reported send error, disconnecting: Libshout
socket error
That's when everything stops.
What can we do?
Thanks,

Icecast Problems Get Worse
I'm using whatever comes with Icecast 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22.
Just grabbed both tarballs from Icecast.org.
Is there a way to find out the libshout version? I can't really tell from
the Ices source...

Request for Icecast-libshout 2.3.2 Release Date
(Resending because previous message got scrubbed)
Hi,
I was wondering if we have an approximate release date/horizon for Icecast-libshout 2.3.2. The last release was 2.3.1 on 20120525 and the 2.3.2 release would contain some very useful features (https://git.xiph.org/?p=icecast-libshout.git;a=blob;f=NEWS).
In case this is the incorrect list for this question, I apologize.
Thanks,

ffmpeg2theora icecast ubuntu edgy
Hi,
I just wanna share with you my experience with theora ffmpeg2theora,
icecast2 and ubuntu edgy. I wanted to broadcast live video on an Ubuntu
machine with ffmpeg2theora, oggfwd and icecast2.
I read the thread
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2005-February/008608.html about
the stream dying after a couple seconds with libshout 2.0.
Now the same happens if you use libshout3 v2.2 with

I'm trying to install Icecast in my home directory using the method described in the following doc

However, when I run the autogen.sh script for ices, I get the following messages:

build libshout and icecast under Windows
Hi folks, I'm kinda new on the list.
I've been trying to build libshout 2.1 and then
icecast 2.2.0 under Windows, using Visual Studio 7.0
(.net), but had lots of problems.
I've fetched needed packages including curl, iconv,
libxml2, libxslt, org, pthreads, theora, but I still
cannot find "implement.h", and the build reports
errors at linking such as "invalid or

don't tell me much.

if you don't have IPv6-able mail best keep replies on the list]

There's no other libshout on the system. Have rebuilt from scratch and it still
exhibits the timing problems.

Source deconnection bug in icecast?
Hello,
Yesterday evening, I installed icecast kh13 with your latest libshout.
We have to wait 1, 2 or three days to see what is happening...
Yes, the samplerate 19404 is exactly what I asked ices to do... Just a compromise between bitrate and samplerate to have a better sound quality.
Regarding to that, I didn't found the option to set the ouput rate in ices kh47, and also I was wondering how

icecast related packages available
Hi,
I made some debian packages related to icecast (libshout,
ices,icecast,...).
They are all available officialy, but tthey need to be validated to
integrated official distribution (either Sid, or Etch).
Feel free to try them out.
Here is the lines you could add to you sources.list:

currently. I can check over it after the dir.xiph.org and icecast
updates I have are done. I have not checked over the Kate parts for
icecast yet but I don't have a
