ices stdinpcm
I have problems with the stdinpcm module in ices2. The player fills its buffer and doen't play anything and fill the buffer again and this repeats (with winamp). when I download the stream with wget I can play it from hard disk... is this a common problem with ices2 or do only I experience this behaviour? the oss module works. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/

Icecast/ices problem
Thanks for the suggestion. It turns out that debug for ices told me nothing but debug for icecast 2.2.0 showed that it was terminating the source at the same place in the playlist, apparently due to a lack of trailing metadata in one particular file -- icecast saw it as end of stream. After checking code updates on the TRAC system, I installed the kh branch of icecast (kh13) and this seems

Icecast source number problem, ices frozen after reconnect attemps failure (icecastkh13 iceskh48)
Hello, I had a problem with ices kh48 and icecastkh13. I usually restart them by cron at 00:00. ----------1---------- This night, icecast told ices "Too many sources" for radio-bro-gwened.ogg... All right, I've just seen that my config file is wrong for icecast (I have 3 sources): <sources>2</sources> But, with this configuration, I can have 3 sources:

win95 deconnection
Hi, I'm using SAMBA (2.0.10 mandrake 7.2 rpm) in a small network with 2 win95 clients. I succeed to share files and printer. But, sometimes (even when I try to log on the client PCs) I can't connect to the samba server or I loose the connection although I can ping my linux server and access internet. (My linux server shares an ADSL line too). Is it a known problem with win95 ? Any ideas.

ice2 CVS build problems under Solaris 7
Hi: If you want to use icecast 2 for streaming vorbis audio then don't get it from the CVS repository at icecast.org. That's ancient developer stuff in there. Instead get it from the xiph.org CVS repository (see http://www.xiph.org/cvs.html which I see now lists the icecast stuff (yay!). You'll need the icecast module plus the avl, httpp, log, net, thread and timing modules (check

icecast sound compressor
Hi, I searched the Internet to find an answers, but I didn't find anything useful, so I'm turning to you, maybe someone has the answer. I want to make a realtime broadcast from a Linux box. The source is the soundcard's line-in, and it sends the stream to an Icecast server. I would like to have realtime compressor/limiter functionalities on this Linux box, so the outgoing signal

Can't compile ices kh static
Hello, I have oen trouble to compile ices kh 57 as a static executable. I built ogg, vorbis, libhshout with enable-static. ld.so.conf is up to date to find shared libs. When I compile ices non static, everything is ok. But when I add export LDFLAGS="-static" before calling configure for ices, then I get this error message: configure: error: Need libshout-kh release I'm using only

Hi Philip, I'll do more testing and logging over the weekend and see how I go. At the moment I have 2.4.4 Win32 running on port 9000 @ http://radioinvercargill.nz:9000/ I'm not sure how good this will be from overseas as the queue is only about 8 seconds, burst about 4 seconds. It's adequate for xDSL/Fibre and 4G mobile over here and is on a 450Mbps upstream fibre line. I've

reencoding mp3 as vorbis live
What I want to do is put up an icecast 2 server streaming vorbis, but the original live stream is mp3. It seems that I want to do something like this (with all the options left out for clarity): mpg123 | lame | something where the "something" is some command that sends the bits to icecast like ices. Does such a thing exist for ogg/vorbis? Is there a better way to do this?

OT: OGG in the mainstream
There is a big, big difference between cbr and vbr, btw. The machine in question is a Pentium 3 700 oc'ed to 800, 512MB ram, win nt 5.1 (2k and xp being nt) etc In an earlier version the oddcast dsp ate up so much cpu time when set at say 64kbps (for examples sake) 44.1kHz, stereo that the machine became totally unusable and the winamp task had to be (slowly) ended with task manager. Now,
