It's a question of getting the compiler environment setup to do the port. Much
of libshout and ices2 are ready but, certain things like live input are different
from whats in windows.

Receiving Multiple calls on asterisk at home
All - I've been muddling around with this for a few days now.. and I'm
trying to figure out why I am not receiving more than one phone call on
each polycom 501 phone. I can make more than one phone call out, but not
receive another one in, while on a call. Has anybody seen this behaivior
before, or is there something simple in the config i'm missing, like..

[Interopcast-general] about translatingdocumentation, but not only documentation.
Just a few weeks ago, I was thinking of writing a streaming source using
libshout and portaudio. I was also considering LADSPA support, to do
some minor post-processing before encoding. However, I'm currently
developing on Mac OS X, and LADSPA's shared library plugin model has
some issues here to be resolved.
Another nice feature I have given a thought on is incorporating

ices2 memory leak on Debian/ARM
Hi all.. I'm having a memory leak issue with Ices2 (using package
2.0.1-8 from Debian stable on arm platform)..
I've tried turning off metadata, modifying samplerate, and some other
misc. things that haven't helped. Eventually, during a stream, ices2
will invoke oom-killer and bring the whole system down. It eats about
0.05MB/Sec of memory, so it takes a while, but this plug has

time out issues with icecast2
But the source computer runs the other os, so I don't have too much
choice as to what I can do and the timeout problems remain with mp3
as well. The persons involved don't want to use .ogg for now so that
is also not an option. Is this an icecast bug, or some other problem?

ices2 memory leak on Debian/ARM (The Darkener)
Hi Keith,
As I explained before, Valgrind won't run in my arch. I'll Google for
some other memory leak detection tools, however. Thank you for your
input...I look forward to helping fix this bug!

Icecast2 and Ices2 on Pentium III with Debian 6.0
Hello.
On a PC Pentium III I had a audio server working properly with Icecast2
and Ices2, running on Debian 5.0 (Lenny).
Now I've upgraded to Debian 6.0 (Squeeze) and after a few seconds of
running everything correctly, successive cuts begin to occur in the
audio.
For Debian 6.0 I have used the same settings for Icecast2 and Ices2 I
used in Debian 5.0.
Increasing "burst" only managed

stupid user tricks with ices2: "No such file or directory" :P
I must be doing something really stupid.
I've read the docs for icecast2 and ices2. Icecast2 is running fine; I can
get stats.xml and see that it is running.
When I run ices2, I get the following error in ices.log:

problems streaming ogg with ices2 and icecast2
Hi there,
I'm trying to stream audio from my audio card using ices2/icecast2. I've
been following the unofficial HOWTO at
http://www.6809.org.uk/media/ices2-howto.shtml. So, I've downloaded and
installed libshout2, ices2 and icecast2.
Everything starts up OK and I can get stats by pointing my browser at the
admin page:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>

ices2 + stdin + metadata
Hi,
does anybody know some info about posting metadata to ices2 via stdin?
My system is based on a PHP-script wich sends PCM-data from the player
(mpg123 or ogg123) over a pipe to ices2. As i understand the documentation,
metadata is sent as normal clear text within the PCM-data when using stdin.
I tried the following format:
\n
artist=foo\n
title=bar\n
(\n is, of course, a normal

... and I can confirm this. No gaps were perceivable decoding in ogg123.
However, an interesting effect can be had if all the parts have the same
serial number. You get a bump

Michael and Karl,
Thanks for your replies.
Sorry for confusing you with bad test info. The contents of
playlist.txtthat I referred to in my earlier email did not match the
log result I
specified. However, I had ran the test with both a full and relative path in
playlist.txt; "/home/john/Visitors.ogg" and "Visitors.ogg".
Got it working, however. Tried playing a different ogg

Thanks Karl, I will give it a try.
Do I have to install your modified libshout or isn't it required if I am
live streaming?
Cheers,

Several Questions about Ices2 & icecast2
Hi,
i have got a linux debian woody box with icecast2 and ices2 on it. I'm
running a 24/7 stream with a huge playlist on my server, but I've got some
questions about it:
1. Is it possible, that ices updates Metadata (Artist - Track) to the
icecast Server in playlist mode?
2. Is there any possibility of controlling ices2 by a webinterface with
functions like nextrack, stop and play,

input source?
If yes.. how?
Thanks for your help

Ices2 and Jack

that works quite well. Why isn't this information on the ices2 web page or
documentation? Ices is useless to me without this, yet so awesome with it. I
saw requests from people for you to do this over a month ago. What's the
problem?
Thanks,
