Low Battery Problems
Hello, I am having a heck of a time with false low battery alarms right now.  It has been going on for the last couple of months.  I originally started getting them with a UPS that was 1-2 years old so I thought it was time to change it out and buy a new one.  I'm still getting the false alarms with the brand new one.  The status is "OL LB" which is strange to me. I have a

Was /etc/nut/upssched-cmd automatically installed? I don't have it on my raspberry pi. :-( On 2019-04-03 1:54 p.m., Mike wrote: > I figured this out and it is working now.  This fix seems strange to me > and is possibly a bug.  I'm sharing in case it might help others. > > I had to uncomment all of the NOTIFYFLAG statements whether I was > changing them or not.

Stop Shorewall from Sending Messages to TTY''s
Hi, Is there a way to stop Shorewall from sending its logging messages to the TTY''s? I''m using Debian Sarge in text mode, and it''s kind of bothersome sometimes. It also seems to follow me to any TTY. Thanks, -MikeD

Off topic
Hello, I''m going to be helping a friend setup Shorewall in place of his Cisco router on his home network. Shorewall will be acting as the router/firewall gateway for internet access for his home LAN. His connection to the ISP is via PPPOE. Nothing unfamiliar here to me. It will be a standard 2 interface setup. My curiosity was peaked when he said that he is going to be installing

Median in Classes
Hello, I've got a problem to find an effective calculation. There are x,y data and I want to build classes for the x values. For each class then I want to calculate the median, N%-Quantiles, outliers, etc. for the corresponding y values and store all in a vector or matrix. Is there a direct possibility to do this without storing to much temporary data? Thank's in advance, Michael

Clang format wrapping bug
I filed a bug a long time ago here: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41559 It's an issue with how clang format isn't breaking function arguments as expected. I haven't seen a response. How can I go about getting the attention of the developers?

Unexpected behavior in recode{car}
Thanks to the R creators for such a great statistical system. Thanks to the R help list, I have (finally) gotten far enough in R to have a question I hope to be worth posting. I'm using the recode function from John Fox's car package and have encountered some unexpected behavior. Consider the following example: ## Begin cut-and-paste example require( car ) set.seed(12345) nn <-

Unexpected behavior in PBSmapping package
Using R 2.5.1 on Windows XP Professional, and PBSmapping package version 2.51, I have encountered some behavior which puzzles me. I am including the package's listed maintainer on this email but also seek the thoughts of the R-help community. I have a set of EventData, which I want to plot as points, and to color the points according to some criterion. It turns out that some of my

hosts allow / hosts deny (CIDRs?)
Just a trivial question... Do the hosts allow and hosts deny clauses (i.e. within smb.conf) support the use of IPv4 CIDR notation (e.g. A.B.C.D/maskbits) ? The specific documentation page I was looking at, i.e.: https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/using_samba/ch06.html was rather entirely ambiguous on this one small point. When describing the interfaces clause, it says explicitly that CIDRs

multiple colors within same line of text
Hi, I'm interested in using mtext(), but with the option of having multiple colors in the same line of text. For example, creating a line of text where: Red is red and blue is blue How do you create a text argument that lets you do this within mtext()? Segmentation fault using rsync client on Android device
I've compiled rsync for my rooted Android (armeabi-v7a, 32-bit) device using these instructions: ``` clone_or_update rsync master git://git.samba.org/rsync.git cd rsync ./prepare-source ./configure \ --prefix=$INSTALL_ROOT/rsync \ --host=$AUTOCONF_PLATFORM \ CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -static" make -j8 && make install cd - ``` Best place for instructions to build I could find
