Running version 2.5 beta as a service
Hi and thanks for the replies.
Thomas, is the second option you mention an installation of the daemon necessary for running as a service?
I have already installed the icecast 2.4.99 from source using http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/icecast/icecast-2.5-beta2.tar.gz <http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/icecast/icecast-2.5-beta2.tar.gz> at icecast.org and have built it using …

So, I’ll try to explain what I mean a little more by referring to some images.
In the first image here, http://systrum.net/mount.png <http://systrum.net/mount.png> iTunes shows the mount-name of my stream. This is not the option that I want, but it is what seems to be the default that I am stuck with.

IPV6 in version 2.4.4
Apologies, one more question. With the edited icecast configuration I provided in my previous reply, netstat now shows the IPV6 binds but not the IPV4 binds. To your knowledge, does this seem correct? The Icecast server seems to be working properly and is accepting listener connections with IPV4 addresses. Just trying to understand why I don?t see 0.0.0.0:8000 for instance.

Re-4: Newbie-Question
Aaah, now so far so good.
Next problem.
I started ices, using the default ices_playlist.xml (with a few minor changes).
Everything seems fine, but I can't connect to the server using winamp.

Re-2: Newbie-Question
Hmm, I made sure my icecast user has write access (by actually writing sth to the direcotry from the console) but no change there.
Still getting the same error-messages

mount points down in relay after a network problem
Hello.
I have a problem in a master-relay scenario.
Sometimes, when a stream is down in master server and after a while the
stream is fine again (e.g. after a network problem), relay/s server can't
get the stream again, so I have to restart icecast in relay server to make
it work:
1- An incoming stream is stopped in icecast master
2 - The stream is up again in icecast master
3 - Relay

Kicking duplicate connections
I see. However, it is often pretty easy to see that a duplicate connection is the same listener because the time connected to the server of the two connections is the same. In that case, I am wondering which would be the one to kick.

Running version 2.5 beta as a service
Hi,
When installing Icecast2 (stable) on Debian9 using ATP packet manager, we need to go into /etc/default/icecast and enable the init.d script with ENABLE=true if we want to run Icecast as a service.
I?ve been playing with icecast 2.5 beta installed from source and obviously this means things are located in different places. I would like to know if it is also possible to run this version as a

configuration & error help
Hi everybody, just a new face showing up looking for a little help
configuring IceCast.
Just installed the software with a few other programs in an attempt to
start off my own internet radio station.
Using SimpleCast to take the line-in and stream it to IceCast, which
in-turn does the obvious and streams it to the internet.
I'm looking at just creating a station of just 5 max users (for

Icecast 404 in the stats page
Hi,
When I open the stats page on the icecast server, I get the basic info,
but images and stuff generate 404's, although all the files are there
and readable by the user that icecast runs under:
This one works:
