[Newbie Q] Relay to an Icecast server apparently not relaying?
The main stream is going to a Shoutcast server via Winamp. Works fine. A Relay stream goes to Live365. Works fine. I set up a Relay under SAM to point to the Icecast server running on another box on the network. In SAMs Realy section it tells me that it's connected - and Icecast seems to be telling me the same thing. Obviously I'm missing something in the setup of IceCast - I think?

How do I combine my ssl certs?
I have https/ssl on my site ok, but it uses two certificates from letsencrypt which renew automatically every three months. However - Icecase says. ssl-certificate If specified, this points to the location of a file that contains both the X.509 private and public key. This is required for HTTPS support to be enabled. Please note that the user Icecast is running as must be able to read the file.

Mountpoint problems...
I can't figure out exactly what to put as my Icecast webroot directory, nor what to tell my Winamp Oddcast plugin to name as the mountpoint. I'm a n00b here and barely know what these words even mean, lol, but I can get the Oddcast to log in to the Icecast and people can go to the .m3u file I put into the mountpoint, but it either just cycles songs or doesn;t play. I noticed that it only

Dumping streams to a file?
A long time ago (probably 1.3 days,) I remember that it was possible to telnet to the Icecast server port, authenticate, and from there issue a command to dump a live stream to a file. Is this still possible with Icecast 2.1 and if so, could somebody give me a quick refresher on how it is done? Thanks, -mp BTW, kudos on the new release. Very nice work.

Requesting some support...
Hi all, Sorry if I ask something too basic, but I've just started with icecast and I don't know if I have done something wrong. I have downloaded and compiled icecast. I have modified the configuration file and added a test mp3 file in /usr/local/icecast/static/ann.mp3. Finally, I have started it obtaining the following: [chris@linux2 bin]$ ./icecast Icecast Version 1.3.12

Question about buffering with icecast protocol
Hi, I?ve seen that shoutCAST sends data much faster than real time when you connect (for a while I assume, otherwise you?d be travelling to the future:). That?s useful for fast buffering. With icecast I don?t get that behavior, stream downloads at real time. Is there a way to buffer data faster than real time? Maybe a ?seek? feature? I need that because I need to allocate a special large

two *independ* shoutcast listeners
Hi all, I set up a icecast server 2.3.2 with two shoutcast listeners (port 8000 and port 8002). What I have noticed is , if I have only one "DSP" source that stream to the first listener (on port 8001), audio become available on both listener ? Meaning that a player will open with success on http://myhost:8000/stream or http://myhost:8002/stream with the same audio. With two source,

Re [ogg]
Hi: If you're just wanting to serve static files then the fileserve function of icecast will probably serve you better. But yes, you would have to make a thousand files. Probably better to write some kind of script to push a .m3u or .pls file generated from the filename passed as a parameter. At least then you wouldn't have lots of tiny m3u files all over the place. long delay
> I dont care I just wanted to make sure there is no problem 50 seconds is a bit long. Probably your client buffer is really high and you are streaming at a really low bitrate. But even in that case 50 seconds seems long. If you can post more details on bitrate, client used, buffer size used on the client, etc, that would be helpful for verification. jack. --- >8 ---- List archives:

help - smbclient works: smbmount doesn't
Naturally, you tinker around with stuff long enough and you break it. I am running Samba 2.2.2 on a Corel linux box and am attempting to connect to a share on a windows XP system. At one point, this was working fine. Then I spent time trying to reconfigure my kernel so that I could attach a floppy tape drive and now I can connect with smbclient to the share, but I cannot with smbmount. I have

Large file upload and Dreamhost
I want to allow uploading large files (50 mb+) through a web form with rails on a dreamhost shared server. With a normal http post (of course), it doesn''t work. So I tried an FTP upload, but even then, it doesn''t work. Should working with threads or some kind of progress indicator (and keeping querying the server) be of any help? Any input is welcome. Winamp 0% Buffering mp3 streams
I'm new to streaming or music hearing over the wire, I still prefer my old-fashioned stereo equipment :-) But a friend asked me to setup a shoutcast server for him, so I went out and installed it, played a bit with it and didn't like it. So I looked for an open source alternative and found Icecast. Installed fine, works fine. But there is one thing which puzzles me and I hope someone
