When I stream with winamp, it appears to ask for a username and password Everytime. If I just set the return to true no matter what, will it prevent the client from asking for a password? I actually got this to work this morning finally. The problem was on my auth server. I see the source auth hook being sent a lot, is there anyway to get the current metadata in that hook? Ideally, every time the source is updated, I'd like to get a hook so I can track the songs that are being played. Alternatively, the only way I can see doing it, is to make a get request every X seconds

8000 security risk?
Yes I meant HTTPS over HTTP, which yes, I’m differentiating by those port numbers. Thanks for clarifying! We have been streaming HTTP for a long time, but I am at a university and there is a lot of emphasis on security. I was never really sure what the certificate did for us in this case…but was attempting to comply! Over the years we have had a small handful of IPs trying to maliciously access

Files not populated in var/www
Greetings, I would love any advice configuring icecast on a virtual redhat server hosted by our university. I am currently trying to configure Icecast and cannot get the icecast server to start. The config file looks correct. I checked the /var/www/icecast/web and /var/www/icecast/admin folders and they were both empty, leading me to believe that this is why the server will not start. Since I was

Couldn't you also just have a client stream locally from icecast that can do things on metadata change? I mean it's a bit icky but it'd work. ---- Philipp Schafft wrote ---- >Good morning, > >On Thu, 2018-11-08 at 12:45 -0500, Alex Hackney wrote: >> I actually got this to work this morning finally. Hi, Where is the mount option 'limit-rate' in the current version? I checked in cfgfile.c and in the documentation, no mention. Yet this option did exist at one time: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2010-October/011703.html http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2009-January/011391.html I try to limit the bitrate of a mount-point, is there another solution? Do you know why this

Windows Source Client
I'm looking for a good source client that runs on windows 10 that can take a feed and stream AAC MP3 and possibly Opus to my icecast2 server. Everything seems dead on the app list. I found rocketcaster but I'm hesitant to spend money on something I've never heard of. Any suggestions? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
