pre-roll ads and log file
Hi all, Are pre-roll ads supported by Icecast? If so, how? And will the log file tell me if the pre-roll ad was completely listened to? Say the pre-roll ad lasts 15 seconds. If I see a connection of 15 seconds in the log file, does it mean that the listener stopped listening immediately after the ad or that he listened to the ad and then to 15 seconds of music? And if a player disconnects

multiple connection
It is possible to ask the development team of icecast to implement a solution for that? Something like – "if the same IP pulling the stream over X instances for X time" to kick him? I believe im not the only one that having that issue from time to time… From: marcin at saepia.net [mailto:marcin at saepia.net] Sent: Friday, July 01, 2016 2:05 PM To: Yaniv Sharon Cc:

I didn't pick up the data from the access file, just from the error file... About players, I can't control what the "radio index" sites are doing with my icecast streaming address, But as far as I know from my experience, the players when they getting "crazy" causing between 3-5 multiple connections for less than a 2 minutes. Not a big issue. The situation that

Load balancing Icecast - aggregated logs
Good afternoon Philipp Many thanks for your reply. Sorry for not being clear. I think the problem I have would be in the implementation. How do I run two versions of Icecast on two servers, with load balancing between the two (perhaps using RR-DNS), but I present my client with one unified log file for the audience statistics? Should the two servers write their logs via a network file share to

Listener stats
I think I got it. I needed to change the following: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients.xsl?mount=/mountpoint to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients?mount=/mountpoint and that gives me the XML. No need to change or modify anything. Now how do I get the json as I prefer json? Reaz > On Sep 22, 2020, at 1:51 PM, Reaz Baksh <reaz at dhantal.com> wrote: > >

Hi all, >From time to time my server getting multiple connection from a same listener. I don't know if it's a bug of the player, or a case of abusing. The situation is "flooding" of the server, the same listener connected to ICE in multiple instances, and using "real" bandwidth (e.g 128K x 30)! how do you handle this situation on your servers?

Load balancing Icecast - aggregated logs
Hi I have a potential project for which my client requests that we load balance the streaming service. Of course, the Icecast server scales very well. - http://icecast.org/loadtest/ However, the client requests high-availability and, due to the scale of the potential project, we would like to load balance the service over two or more servers. I think the load balancing aspect is not my

MetaData Update for FLAC and OPUS
I am using the standard Xiph.org FLAC encoder, but I couldn't find any option to update the meta-data mid-stream. Also the FLAC spec says, that it defines VORBIS_COMMENT as the only way to transmit meta-data information. This is the only officially supported tagging mechanism in FLAC. There may be only one VORBIS_COMMENT block in a stream. As such, when you state, that meta data is the domain

Thanks for the response. I can confirm that the recommended settings worked and now IPV6 is working as it should. If anyone is interested, these are the <listen-socket> settings I am using. <!-- You may have multiple <listen-socket> elements?> <listen-socket> <port>8000</port> <bind-address>0.0.0.0</bind-address> </listen-socket>

Logging tracks played and listener stats
Hi Richard, We parse streaming server log files and generate audience stats and royalty reports in various formats. You can submit a log file at https://www.streamanalyst.com/free-account/ for a free evaluation. This is a commercial service. We charge 148 euros (about US$167.00) for a one-year subscription to small broadcasters. Best regards, Jean-Luc On jeudi 7 mars 2019 at 11:28 AM,
