pre-roll ads and log file (Philipp Schafft)
Thank you Philipp, Your answers are very clear. We understand the difference between the wall clock time (server side) and the playback time. Just one more point. You wrote that the "into file" is sent to the listener before the listener is attached to the actual stream. If the server would take 20 seconds to send the "into file" and if the listener only remains connected 5

Pre-roll playing every time user disconnects and connects

The trick here is to find a way of serving the preroll without everyone hearing it. I guess you could use some on connect logic to determine if it should be played,

Pre-roll playing every time user disconnects and connects
I was trying to see if there's a way to configure it so that someone with a weak network connection doesn't have to hear our pre-roll over and over again. Pre-roll playing every time user disconnects and connects
You could simply serve your pre roll at the client side, eg, your player. This way you can detect the mentioned situation and decide whether or not to serve the pre roll. Pre-roll playing every time user disconnects and connects
Youve over-complicated my suggestion. No need to have icecast handle this mechanism, simply have the required logic at the front-end - the actual player. As for unique listeners detection and flapping ips as Jack mentioned, this can be solved by some sort of tokenization mechanism based on local storage or session. בתאריך שבת, 21 בנוב׳ 2020, 02:36, מאת Geoff Shang ‏<geoff at

20 second delay using pre-roll <intro>
Hello I have a problem when I use the intro to send a pre-roll, the main stream generates a 20 second delay, when the main stream is played it has no delay. Is there any parameter I can use to eliminate the delay? with pre-rolli: https://radiomarca-rrcast.flumotion.com/radiomarca/live.mp3 without pre-rolli: https://radiomarca-rrcast.flumotion.com/radiomarca/live-np.mp3 my conf: icecast>

PATCH: Faststart implementation
Hi, find enclosed a patch to implement faststart (or prebuffering). Basically, it stores a number of "refbuf"s, configurable by seconds. When a new client connects, it adds the prebuffers to que clients' queue so they are delivered as fast as permitted by the connection. As result, the players prebuffers are filled up faster giving a better "response". I tried

Logging tracks played and listener stats
Hi Richard, We parse streaming server log files and generate audience stats and royalty reports in various formats. You can submit a log file at https://www.streamanalyst.com/free-account/ for a free evaluation. This is a commercial service. We charge 148 euros (about US$167.00) for a one-year subscription to small broadcasters. Best regards, Jean-Luc On jeudi 7 mars 2019 at 11:28 AM,

postscript plotting to 36" roll plotter
Hello, First, my thanks to the R developers; it is a wonderful tool and supports my development and production activities in many helpful ways. My problem is as follows: I want to make long (~ 20-30 feet) plots on a HP 755 (36" color roll plotter) using the R postscript command. I have tried paper="special" with appropriate width and height, and everything seems ok from the

roll back member server to VM snapshot
In trying to diagnose a domain member server problem after a samba upgrade, I was tempted to roll back my server to a VMware snapshot taken before the upgrade. However, when I looked at the log file "log-wb-DOMAIN" I saw an entry that the server had changed its password on the DC since the snapshot. How do I handle this if I have to roll back? Will I have to join the domain again? Is it

RFC: Multiple small releases, or one big roll-up?
Hi all, In looking at the current bug list for elmo[1], it''s pretty clear that this is a lot of work, and some of it is kind of segmented into related chunks. Additionally, a good bit of it has an impact on backward compatibility, although in nearly all cases I expect to be able to remain entirely or almost entirely backwards compatible. Given that, would people prefer that I

wanted: sample config' using GOTOIF's for all features for a roll-out
Bon soir, * People, You guys are fantastic. This list is hyper-helpful; thanks for that. I have an organization that needs to roll-out * for each of its 30+ locations across the country & we want all features in a DB where they can be easily toggled on & off, as needed. I have done some research in the usual places & got a bit of it, but not all of it, & am hoping someone else

Roll back from CVS Head to v1.09
Hi Folks, OK, I'm running CVS Head as of about 3 weeks ago. I want to roll back to V1.09. Other than downloading the code, how do I do it? I thought someone once said that I have to delete all my modules or something? Thanks Mark -- Mark, G7LTT/KC2ENI Randolph, NJ http://www.g7ltt.com
