Push relay from nicecast with icecast2?
Greetings, I have some confusion. I've seen it mentioned, somewhere in some docs, that Icecast2 does not (as yet) support Push relaying. Is this actually the case? Should I be looking at icecast1 (which does support push relay, I believe) until such capability is implemented on icecast2? Or should I be creating a combination of both? Or what? Here's my situation: I have a customer

Apart from what probably is a bad assumption in the code, does it actually present a problem ? Meaning, even though it indicates 100% cpu usage, does it slow down your machine

How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
Ok. Now it will run. But when i try to play back my stream(either ogg/vorbis or mp3) it sounds like the chipmunks. Could it be that I'm broadcasting at a sample rate of 22050 in mono? This shouldn't make a difference as the source is also 22050 samplerate and mono(its the line-in plugin for winamp). I'm using Winamp 2.81 with the is the Oddcast DSP for Winamp 2.xx plugin to

Attended transfers and orginal caller ID
Greetings list, Have there been any further developments recently regarding presenting the original caller's caller ID to SIP devices after an attended transfer? I've googled around on the topic, but most of the threads I've found (some from this very list) are all dated back in mid-2006 and I wondered if there have been developments on the issue. To recap, the desired behaviour

Push relay from nicecast with icecast2?
Darrel, Thanks for the help. I'm presuming then that I've misunderstood what is meant by "pull" vs. "push". I understood, I guess erroneously, that the context of 'push' relaying was from the perspective of the icecast2 receiving a 'pushed' stream. I believe now that I have this backwards, and that the context is from the part of icecast2 not being

FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
Ok, I read the Read Me. So icyx://boa.mediacast1.com:9292/stream.aac works. I don't understand why the http syntax cannot be made to work. This works fine for Ogg Vorbis streams using the Illumination DirectShow filter. Icecast 2 on ubuntu 14 - service will not start using /etc/init.d
whomever posted I can quite follow, either Jeff or Jose, this /etc/init.d/icecast2 is actually included in the startup ? Check with ls /etc/rc* | grep icecast2 I am working on ubuntu and we don't have an /etc/rc. we have /etc/init.d and there is an /etc/init.d/icecast2 file there. Interesting, I manually started the icecast2 and I shut it down using the /etc/init.d/icecast2 stop. On

encrypted passwords in Icecast 2
hello ! I've just installed the debian package icecast2 (I have the icecast 1.3.12 before) and I have a doubt about the passwords. In the icecast 1.3.* we should use the mkpasswd for our pass and put the crypted output to icecast.conf file. Isn't possible in the icecast.xml file?? (perhaps is not necessaty, I don't know). If this is so, can I change the permissions to this file to
