Fallback stream not preventing a disconnect
Dear Philipp,
Thanks for this fast answer.
I'm using "Icecast 2.3.3-kh7-20130425090916", installed on a Raspberry Pi 3
using the cononical "sudo apt-get install".
The output was copied from the log file in /var/log/icecast2/error.log.
Kind regards,
Erwin

Fallback stream not preventing a disconnect
Dear Philipp,
I've compiled it from source on my raspberry pi, and replaced the binary
from the synaptic package manager with the compiled one. Everyting is
working fine now, it seems that there is indeed a "faulty" package in the
repository. I don't know who I should contact to get this fixed?
Anyway, it works, but while using ogg as output stream from mopidy, I get a

Fallback stream not preventing a disconnect
Hi Erwin,
Not sure if this might be related. Not sure if you are connecting the
fallback to another stream or to just a file. If it is a file, then you
can get buffering issues because most clients have buffers they can fill
with minutes of audio. If you fall back to a file that is pushed towards
the client at once, it can push a few minutes of audio in just seconds.
If you set up a locally

Problem with Icecast2/Ices streaming MP3.
Hello everyone,
I am running Icecast 2.0.0 with ices-3.0. I run ices on a machine which
has all the mp3 files I am playing and stream these mp3 to Icecast which
is running on another machine. Every now and then, say 2 hours. Ices
keeps churning out errors saying updating meta data and socket errors
and keeps retrying and after some time it suceeds for one file and then
when playing the next file

Icecast2, Oddcast v3 and Metadata
Hi guys,
this is my first post and i'm sorry for my bad english :-)
The question is this:
I have an "Icecast2 beta 3" server (under Red Hat 9) and a Winamp 5.0.8/Oddcast 3.0.7 source client.
My users are all with Win Xp and Win Media Player 9
The problem is with metadata. I set them into Oddcast and the server respond with this log messages:

Ok - I've had 5 seg faults in the last 24 hours which is a pain, as
you can imagine. I crona script once per minute to restart Icecast
in the event that it fails so the service is never down for more than
59 secs

Icecast 2.2 with Opticodec - dropping stream
This sounds like a network problem.
We have several Opticodec-PC Encoders working with Icecast2.
It is a VERY reliable server.
Our EVAL stream is here:

Chrome, and Chromium, too, spies on users' web habits behind their back. In comparison with firefox, firefox pretty much allows you to switch off any unwanted features through preferences/about:config, and a traffic dump taken when browsing a known web site comes back clean.
Chrome OTOH, even if you turn all the knobs,

Icecast SSL endpoint timeout issue
Hi team,
Please accent my apologies if this is NOT the place/distro list to be
raising this. I had major dramas with the standard forum - registration and
decided this may be a better route.
My current instance icecast server has been built with --with-curl
--with-openssl options as outlined within this post:

changes, there are lots of formatting changes, and things like
additions of "XXX: ..." comments that don't say anything helpful -
these will need removing before the patches are really reviewable.
A higher-level description of what you're attempting to accomplish
with these patchsets would also be very helpful - but much more detail
than "performance and reliability".
