Help attack DDOS
Server software firewall cannot help with ddos attacks. Basically if those are indeed ddos attacks you’ll have to look into mitigation solutions which are quite expensive. CloudFlare won’t work as well since they do not support streaming. You should consider getting a server at a data center which provide ddos mitigation, I know that OVH’s mitigation is quite good. בתאריך יום ג׳, 5 ביוני 2018

Icecast on my website
No flash player can fetch the embedded metadata due to security restrictions concerning non-standard request headers which is required in order to get the embedded metadata. A patch for ice cast to allow this however is quite possible, perhaps a config directive that tells icecast not to wait for the specific request header and send the embedded metadata regardless of the icy-metadata header will

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
Okay, but you’d have to be able/willing to employ a dedicated IP to that, plus run Icecast as root. What are the negative technical implications of running icecast on port 8000 (suitable for most users) and then running a reverse proxy to accommodate public wifi with port restrictions? > On Apr 8, 2019, at 3:31 PM, Yahav Shasha <yahav.shasha at gmail.com> wrote: > > Just bind

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
I have had a bunch of issues getting reverse proxy running with apache properly, the main issue is with YP listings and having icecast list the revproxy mount at port 80 rather than the icecast one at port 8000. Unfortunately, I /need/ some sort of http server on port 80 - and I know apache the best. That being said, if you know the mounts you want to reverse proxy, its not an arduous exercise

Chrome not allowing mixed content anymore
For example, in my case, we use several servers with Centovacast, with several Icecast2 services. Version 2.5 of Icecast2, allows to respond to http and https connections from the same port, but takes years in beta. Centovacast does not update its panel, waiting for the final version of Icecast 2.5 to be released. Chrome has been warning for months that this would happen in February, but no one

Directory Listing on http://dir.xiph.org/
Hello everyone! I am having a issue with what I am doing wrong here to get listed in the xiph.org public directory. I have the newest icecast-2.3.99.3_beta3, loaded on a Win7 box acting as server, and using BUTT to encode the source at 32kbps, mono, .mp3, from VLC playlists. I have the server config set to public, and have this code in the icecast.xml file: <directory>

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
What’s wrong with reverse proxying icecast through apache? In my case, it’s just a measure to allow a secondary point of access to a stream from public wifi that only allows ports 80 and 443. Is it just a potential resource usage implication? > On Apr 7, 2019, at 6:12 PM, Humberto Rodriguez wrote: > > Why not reproduce the stream using the <audio>
