Icecast and AAC streams
Unfortunately, Dennis, my source stream is 128kbps and will never go higher. Is Liquidsoap still a good idea? Icecast and AAC streams
Great tool to do this: liquidsoap Keep in mind that transcoding degrades the quality of tour stream dramaticly. You can avoid this by feeding liquidsoap or stream transcoder with a highquality or even transparant stream and trancode this to the different streaming formats you like. I used to do this by feeding a flac stream to liquidsoap and transcode this to 5 different stream formats i needed.

can I convert ogg to mp3 streaming on fly?
Hello, I am configuring a webradio and I'm using icecast2 with deefuzzer. the music streaming work, in mp3 format. I want to make a second streaming with my iphone, and the app that I'm using, Koalasan, can stream only in OGG, AAC or Opus. I want that when I start speaking, music stops and my voice is online. Deefuzzer is able to do this with "relay", but the original stream in

Icecast Auto DJ
Hello, I’ve a question. I have a station now with Shoutcast and shoutcast transcoder for 2 bitrates. 192kbps mp3 and 64 kbps aac+. I want to transfer these to Icecast. I’ve an working icecast server but i need an auto dj that can encode 2 bitrates, 192kbps mp3 and 64kbps aac. I had a working setup, but my nonstop machine is not on the icecast server but externally. Now in shoutcast transcoder i

Linux source-client that can push AAC to icecast2?
Hi all, I set up ezstream to read a playlist.m3u file containing only MP3 encoded songs (to shuffle continuously) and push this to icecast2. This works, and I can also reencode to a lower bitrate. I would like to know if there is a way to reencode these MP3s into AAC-LC 128kpbs and then push the stream to icecast2. I'm doing this on a VM with only terminal access and no audio hardware, so

Transcode from AAC to MP3 (or vice versa)
Hi To continue the interesting streamTranscode thread but in a slightly different direction, I have a user station that would like to send us a 64kbps AAC stream and have us transcode that to 64kbps MP3 and 32kbps AAC - is this possible? Points to consider: a) we would be happy to go with another permutation such as: she sends us 64kbps MP3 and we convert that to 64kbps AAC and 32kbps ACC. b)

multiple mounts each varying bitrates
Hello, If anyone is running an Icecast server that serves at least 3 separate streams each with it's own bitrate can I get a look at your config? Thanks. Dave.

OggFLAC metadata support
Hello, I'm currently using Liquidsoap to stream a group of files to Icecast. The stream is sent to Icecast in a few different formats (MP3,HE-AAC v2,OggFlac,OggOpus). The "Current Song" metadata is correctly displayed for the MP3 and the AAC stream, but not the OggFLAC or OggOpus stream. I see a few entries in the Icecast forums, but it does look like FLAC metadata support never

ice cast with ladiocast
Hello - I'm a blind individual using ladiocast to broadcast. Here's the problem. it only supports .ogg streaming and AAC streaming. My question is, is there a free service where I can broadcast in .AAC streaming? One thing to note when giving a service, i'm blind using a screen reader and can't get past the capsha spam blocker things. Thanks for any idea you guys might

Looks like a lot of tedium. I'll give it a go on Red Hat, but not before a full backup first. Forcing a sspecific stream type
Is it possible to force Icecast to stream in a specific stream type, such as OGG, regardless of the source or input? For example, if a streaming client connects to an Icecast server with an MP3 format stream, can Icecast be forced to send it out as OGG or AAC or anything else? Or does Icecast simply pass the stream through unconverted?

MetaData Update for FLAC and OPUS
Many Thanks for your answer. Actually quite a few 'ifs', 'maybes' or 'shoulds'... ;-) I have tried most of them (except liquidsoap). However, even the mentioned apps like RadioDJ or Mixxx do NOT support meta data changes via the encoder (they all use the admin interface)! And as you correctly pointed out: none of the reference encoders support this. Not even the FLAC, OGG

AAC
Hello all, I would like to know what kind of AAC can stream icecast 2.2.0. Is it MPEG-2 AAC or MPEG-4 AAC? How much efficiency can be gained by using this kind of AAC compared to MP3? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... vorbis ogg vs. aac
Hi folks: this is my second question at this list and I wanted to mention that with answers and guides I got from 2 persons last time, I got a quite low rate stream in vorbis ogg, in about 5 minutes after reading what you wrote- Thanks! Well after that, I pointed my attention to the so called AAC, and after tweaking a bit I got my AAC stream up and connected to Icecast serv. I was a bit
