Making icecast stream available outside my network?
Hi, i'm a newb to using icecast. what i'm using is, foobar2000, with the altacast encoder. I went in to the config file, and changed the adminname/password. i've left everything else at there defaults. I open up altacast, and add a new encoder, giveing it the user name, and password. it works fine. But when giveing the link to people to listen, they say they can't open it.

Making icecast stream available outside my network?
Hi! Are you even sure that your icecast server is exposed on the internet? Is your icecast server running on a public or private ip address? If it's running on a private ip address (192.168.0.0/16, 10.0.0.0/8 or 172.16.0.0/12), then you have to do some port forwarding, so your listeners can reach it. - Marius Den 30.11.2015 22:59, skrev Matt Turner: > Hi, i'm a newb to using icecast.

Making icecast stream available outside my network?
Maybe try the following tool to actually check if the port is open: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ ? And if you're comfortable with it, share the ip address either on the list or to me privately, so I can check for you. Have you checked the firewall running on the icecast server itself? If you're running Windows, make sure you've exempted the icecast program from the

Multiple connections from iPhones
A newbie question I'm afraid. I have a site that streams to only about 20 or 30 listeners using Icecast for Windows 2.4.4 and Altacast. The issue - I often see multiple connections started almost simultaneously from one IP address, usually an iphone or ipad. The device descriptions are identical, and I know my listeners are listening from home, so my assumption is that one device is

Multiple connections from iPhones
Hi David I have seen similar behavior and the conclusion was that icecast will connect a client once for each connection request. The double connection is a result of the player/browser that possibly checks if it can connect and then establishes the actual connection. If you don't have control over the source code of the player, you might have to live with the issue. Hope it helps. On Thu,

Stream Interruption Troubleshooting
Dear All, Icecast makes it possible that our Community/Student radio station reaches online listeners and it's FM transmitter. Operating with little or not budget, I've set up our streaming several times. Lately we are experiencing audio glitches and dropouts out of nowhere (setup hasn't changed tremendously). Similar cases I found on the list and elsewhere don't give general

Need help in waveslim package: imodwt and universal.thresh.modwt
Hi: I have encountered problems with imodwt and universal.thresh.modwt and cannot find any reference in R Search. Hope someone can give me some ideas: Starting with modwt.la8 <- modwt(xdata, "la8", n.level=6) <-- this seems to work fine (1) ydata <- imodwt(modwt.la8) will always give ydata as numeric(0) (no values) instead of being a time series data with

How to split HTML content? Well, the text like: <p>Ruby&nbsp;on&nbsp;Rails is a next-generation web-framework<br><b>YEAH!</b>And of course Java killer?! :) &copy;</p> You can split to a pages in a smart way. I tried to realize it in a gem for my internal use, and now when it works for my Rails 3.1.3 application, this is enough to make it public. I
