Icecast and Streamed Audio Formats
So that means files with metadata in them don't get that metadata
streamed? Too bad that. This had potential.

I think what he tried to say is:
It may or may not work. There is no official support. If it works for
you: fine. If it doesn't or break: no official support ('also fine').

Yes, Philipp, it does help. Thanks for the clarification. I'll try it
and see what happens.

Icecast and AAC streams
Unfortunately, Dennis, my source stream is 128kbps and will never go
higher. Is Liquidsoap still a good idea?

Icecast and AAC streams
All the broadcasters on the server which I support deliver their
content in MP3 format. Recently, there's been interest in supplying a
second AAC stream at half the bandwidth but with the same audio
quality (64kbps AAC versus 128kbps MP3) like TuneInRadio does for
delivering their content regardless of the source. I've thought of
using a third-party product called Stream Transcoder, but am

Re-Assembling SongData in Icecast Streams..
Like any other major radio station we output our music from automation
software via analog audio through a mix board in a studio, where we
insert other stuff like live DeeJays, etc. only to have that stream
re-encoded by hardware MP3 encoders for distribution to our network of
IceCast servers.
The chain of song information gets broken as soon as we output from the

Forcing a sspecific stream type
Is it possible to force Icecast to stream in a specific stream type,
such as OGG, regardless of the source or input? For example, if a
streaming client connects to an Icecast server with an MP3 format
stream, can Icecast be forced to send it out as OGG or AAC or anything
else? Or does Icecast simply pass the stream through unconverted?

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Just checked using RealPlayer Windows 10.5 latest release.
This also glitches.
This is more than likely due to the differences in metadata between
SHOUTcast and Icecast2.
This is exactly the reason I was asking for the exact differences between
the protocols so I can help get these things fixed with the player folks.
Real is not the only player with this problem.
I may be in the AAC/aacPlus camp,

Icecast Auto DJ
Hello,
I’ve a question. I have a station now with Shoutcast and shoutcast transcoder for 2 bitrates. 192kbps mp3 and 64 kbps aac+.
I want to transfer these to Icecast. I’ve an working icecast server but i need an auto dj that can encode 2 bitrates, 192kbps mp3 and 64kbps aac.
I had a working setup, but my nonstop machine is not on the icecast server but externally. Now in shoutcast transcoder i

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp.
Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict.
This might actually be by design.
I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow.
I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete
clarification.
FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac
or aacp. aac is

Stream playback issue
Can anyone tell me why this AAC+ Icecast stream will not play.
http://s2.stationplaylist.com:7014/listen.aac.m3u
The Icecast Server web page looks fine with a 64k stream.
We host a small number of streams and other 64k AAC+ streams are working
fine but this one won't play in any player.
Thanks,
Ross.

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but
the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with
Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some
attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to
prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll.
Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to

Icecast2 Server - AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus Support
Hello-
You guys have done an excellent job with the Icecast2 server.
I probably don't need to tell you that, but I did anyway.
We are Coding Technologies licensees and have recently developed a
streaming audio encoder supporting AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus using RTSP/RTP,
SHOUTcast HTTP/ICY, and Icecast2 HTTP/ICY, Orban Opticodec-PC.

Vorbis bistream definition / separation from ogg
Hi,
I have some questions:
1) in the sources of the encoder_example (and of course in oggenc.c,
too) I see a lot of dependance
on ogg. I want to get totally rid of ogg and use the vorbis bitstream
alone.
From this reason stems the second question:
2) is there a definition of the vorbis bitstream somewhere? I don't need
to know every single
detail, just the informations necessary to

add AAC+ file header to new streams
Hi all.
I believe there is an opportunity to have thousands of Shoutcast servers
replaced with Icecast.
What will do this is if Icecast can send a MPEG-4 AAC+ header as the first
data a player receives when connecting to an audio/aacp stream.
The reason for this is the AAC+ support added to Adobe Flash player last
December. I could hear a loud sigh of relief each around the world when
this was

Don't quote me but I believe Shoutcast is switching to MPEG-4 AAC later
this year.

king fm m3u streams
Hi,
Thanks, that helps. What I really want however, is an MP3 stream that
can play on a WI-FI mp3 player. I know the m3u streams, but they wont
play. I can find the stream for the regular KING HD-1, but not for
opera or evergreen.
