Icecast and Streamed Audio Formats
So that means files with metadata in them don't get that metadata
streamed? Too bad that. This had potential.

EZStream: Can it stream a URL?
Additional to my earlier post, I was also thinking of a single
broadcast relay, but it's not possible to start it and stop it on
demand. One way around this might be to load a special Icecast XML
with the relay in it at the program's broadcast time, then reload the
regular one when the relayed program ends. Klugey, but it could work I
suppose.

Strange Metadata Truncation in 2.43
I recently upgraded from 2.41 to 2.43. I feed my Icecast server with
either a live stream or from EZStream. I am now finding that track
title metadata never exceeds thirty characters. Is this new, or have I
got something wrong in the 2.43 configuration? I am actually using the
same one I used for 2.41, and I don't ever remember seeing anything
in the XML that controls length of metadata

The processor is definitely a 64-bit processor, even though that's not
verified with the above version name. However, I'm the one who
installed it, I know it's the

EZStream Question
Can it, or will it ever be able to, process .CUE files along with the
MP3 streams? If not, this would be a *VERY* VERY* valuable feature, as
a popular playout system in common use can now create .CUE files when
recording programs for later airing.

One Last EZstream Problem
I'm noticing that when a streamed program file ends and the next one
begins, sometimes the next streamed file will play for a second at
double-speed, and if the previous file doesn't run to the full time for
which it is scheduled, the stream that's relayed from the backup stream
to the main one sometimes plays at half speed. I've had this happen
before, but it somehow worked

OggFLAC metadata support
Hello,
I'm currently using Liquidsoap to stream a group of files to Icecast.
The stream is sent to Icecast in a few different formats (MP3,HE-AAC
v2,OggFlac,OggOpus).
The "Current Song" metadata is correctly displayed for the MP3 and the AAC
stream, but not the OggFLAC or OggOpus stream.
I see a few entries in the Icecast forums, but it does look like FLAC
metadata support never

Icecast and Streamed Audio Formats
I just happened on a comparison page with a table listing the
differences between Icecast and Shoutcast (Icecast wins, of course),
and found a line that intrigued me. The line in the table listed AAC
as one of the codecs in which Icecast can stream. If this is correct,
what do I need to add to my Linux-based Icecast server and
configuration to make this happen?

icecast2 will not start from the /etc/init.d
I can start it fine from the command line using icecast -c icecast.xml
we have ver 2.4.
When I try and start it using /etc/init.d/icecast2 start it says [ ok ]
Starting icecast2 (via systemctl): icecast2.service.
but it actually doesn't start. nothing in the error logs, nothing in
syslog.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Short Title Bar
It used to be that streamed titles could exceed thirty characters. Ever
since I upgraded to I believe it was version 2.4.0, no matter what I
send, there's a truncation of the artist-plus-title combined sting. At
first, I thought it was an ices-cc problem, but it isn't, because when
live programs connect to the input port, the title bar still cuts off at
thirty characters. I've

I think what he tried to say is:
It may or may not work. There is no official support. If it works for
you: fine. If it doesn't or break: no official support ('also fine').

Yes, Philipp, it does help. Thanks for the clarification. I'll try it

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a panic.
I don't have an immediate need for this feature. I know others do, or at
least might, and have always felt this should be configurable ever since
it was first implemented. I've never run an

Customized M3u for Icecast. Are there additional switches on XML / M3u Ezstream to override MetaData Tags in Mp3 with alternate tags
Hello. I have been streaming IceCast for about three years now and have
run into a problem, which I hope this forum can resolve
We stream non copyright songs from independent musicians. When they
upload their music to our site, they
upload Mp3's of which some have entered the MetaData information in the
MP3. Problem, musicians dont always do this, leaving
the meta data very sparse.... When

Binning question (binning rows of a data.frame according to a variable)
Hi,
I have tuples of data in rows of a data.frame, each column is a variable
for the 'items' (one per row).
One of the variables is the 'size' of the item (row).
I would like to cut my data.frame into groups such that each group has
the same *total size*. So, assuming that we order by size, some groups
should have several small items while other groups have a few large

Protect Icecast Admin/Run on different port?
Hi list,
We're new to Icecast and we're looking at securing the admin functions.
I've trawled the docs but it's not clear to me if we are able to run
this on a different TCP port to the streams themselves.
Has anyone with a little more experience any insight into this?
Thanks,
David.

Simulate binary correlated data
Dear R experts,
I am trying to simulate correlated binary data and have stumbled upon the
following problem:
With the help of "binarySimCLF" or "mvpBinaryEp" I have been able to
simulate correlating binary vectors given certain mean values and a desired
correlation. My problem is that these procedures do not allow you to specify
the exact vector for which you want to generate
