Logging songs played by Icecast server
Hello all,
I skimmed the last year's worth of messages and all the docs and could find
no reference to this. I'm hoping someone here can assist.
I am a host for an Internet radio station, and we gave about 20 DJs. Each
host determines their own playlist and uses a variety of tools to broadcast
to the Icecast server (e.g. SAM2, SimpleCast, etc.). Since we do not have a
set playlist for

Re: songs on website
Hi Christian,
Aaron Wolfe has already sent me a script he used for his online radio. I only need to customize it -- and maybe create a Debian package from it. It knows much more than I need (requests, cancels, more stations, etc.), I'll have to cut out some parts.
To answer your questions I use Debian Linux, I'll use ices2 as source, not a media player.
Thanks,
Jacint

Chrome not allowing mixed content anymore
This is a real problem that needs to be addressed.
Anyone has figured a way to mitigate this?

Chrome not allowing mixed content anymore
For example, in my case, we use several servers with Centovacast, with
several Icecast2 services. Version 2.5 of Icecast2, allows to respond to
http and https connections from the same port, but takes years in beta.
Centovacast does not update its panel, waiting for the final version of
Icecast 2.5 to be released.
Chrome has been warning for months that this would happen in February, but

playlist streams
Hello again
No replies regarding memory requirements!
I have an idea to provide 1000's of streams without the requirement of
100's of source PC's, and perhaps without even requiring Icecast at all.
But I'm not sure if this will work.
We will have thousands of 24 hour playlists generated everyday by
software I'm developing. If we encode all our audio files at 32kb/s,
could

Best source for creating multiple streams
Hi there.
I'm trying to find a way to create multiple streams with one source
client. Each of the streams should read from a different playlist file
and randomly pull and play songs from the file. I know how to do this
with a single stream with clients such as IceS and Ezstream, but I
don't see a way to specify different playlists for each mountpoint. I
was wondering if anyone had any

get current song
Hi,
I use dynamic playlist, so do not have static list of files. I sream
this play list on my mage via simple flash player,
and show this playlist in this page with ajax-ed javascript.
Here is question.
I need to get current song,
but when I ask icecast server I get wrong information. Sometimes song
is still playing,
but info from server is updated to next track. I have many short

AW: AW: final question: how many mountpoints can icecast handle ?
Hello Michael
damn, I was afraid of that, but thanks for lightening me up
(although I am in complete darkness now, after having seen
the light just some days ago..)
I'm looking into http streaming of the static files just now,
but I came to find that there is one huge drawback:
1. when sending the stream out with icecast/shoutcast
it would be possible to "push" the next song

Icecast Song Tracking
Hi list,
I was wondering if an Icecast mount is down, would icecast still keep a record of the songs being played, artist name, and at what time eatch song was played? And from what IP address the songs played from?
If icecast keeps these records, where does it keep them?
Thanks.

ezstream keeps getting glibc error on song
Hello everyone,
I just setup an mp3 streaming server on an old laptop I had laying
around using icecast and ezstream. The problem I am having is that when
ezstream gets to a certain song in a playlist I get the error "*** glibc
detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x080576e0 ***". I'm not
sure if it is doing this because of the song number it is or if it is a

cannot get icecast and ices to talk...authenticationfailed
Alright, I was able to recompile ices2beta, which connects to icecast, but
now I'm getting:

When I try to play a basic playlist with 2 files (that are fine, and do
exist). I have set the sample and nominal bitrates at 256000, which is
also the encoding for the song...
Does the bitrate of the song have to be exactly the same

Linux source-client that can push AAC to icecast2?
Hi all, I set up ezstream to read a playlist.m3u file containing only MP3 encoded songs (to shuffle continuously) and push this to icecast2. This works, and I can also reencode to a lower bitrate.
I would like to know if there is a way to reencode these MP3s into AAC-LC 128kpbs and then push the stream to icecast2. I'm doing this on a VM with only terminal access and no audio hardware, so

Scripted playlists with shout?
Hi,
Another basic question (the list archive search doesn't seem to be
working).
Is it possible to do scripted playlists with shout? I want to allow the
people at my site to upload new mp3 files to the server and have them placed
in the playlist automatically. I tried generating the playlist (file) with
crontab, but it seems shout only reads the playlist once, at startup.
