Open the /etc/default/icecast2 file as root in an editor. The last line needs to be changed to ENABLE=true It still looks like it is set to ENABLE=false On Tue, Aug 25, 2015, 7:58 AM <Nick at 4points.ca> wrote: > Thanks Jeff, > > the /etc/icecast2 is owned by root and group root > > I am not sure what you mean about the absolute path to icecast.xml. Starting Icecast as a service on CentOS
Hi All, I've recently upgraded my hosting to a VPS running CentOS. I'm trying to configure the VPS to launch Icecast as a service so that Icecast starts if the virtual server reboots, or Icecast stops running. I've found several scripts out there to place in my init.d folder, but nothing seems to work for me as of yet. Here is my Icecast2 setup: Location=/usr/local/bin

Problem installing icecast2
try to purge the files with apt-get --purge remove icecast2 This should delete all the icecast files, then install it again. I don't know if this is supported wit icecast2, but maybe you could also use dpkg-reconfigure. EZStream and Cue Sheets
I could, but I have this big old Fedora system just waiting for me to get LS working on it, so I think I need to concentrate on making that happen. If it's hard, difficult, tedious, inconvenient, then that's what it is. I want the cue sheet capability some way somehow, so I'm just going to have to knuckle down and buckle down and do it. Right? In my experience liquidsoap is a lot easier to compile from source on Debian or Ubuntu. Both platforms also have packages in the repos. To experiment it might be easier to spin up a small local VM, or there's always a digital oceans droplet, or EC2 micro instance. Hello! Whenever I get that error, its due to either the directory/file not existing, or having the wrong file permissions. Remember, it needs the file permissions of the user you created to be "icecast". icecast crash (segv)
Hi all, I'm experiencing a systematic crash with icecast2 when I goes in this case (tested with debian 2.3.1-5 2.3.1-6 and latest trunk) When there is more than ~1400 clients connected and a mountpoint that was not relaying goes online it crash. Without this I can go up to 5000 clients without problems. Changing the number of threadpool does'nt change anything. here is the term log:
