Multimedia support
Hello, i wish to know if this client(IceCast) sends exclusively only audio content. Because i wish to use it for more complex kinds of multimedia content without having to do much modifications to the existing code base. ffmpeg2theora icecast ubuntu edgy
Hi, I just wanna share with you my experience with theora ffmpeg2theora, icecast2 and ubuntu edgy. I wanted to broadcast live video on an Ubuntu machine with ffmpeg2theora, oggfwd and icecast2. I read the thread http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2005-February/008608.html about the stream dying after a couple seconds with libshout 2.0. Now the same happens if you use libshout3 v2.2 with

Bizarre (and irritating) ices2 error
I get this error every time I try to start ices: ices: relocation error: ices: undefined symbol: resolver_initialize I'm running a Celeron with 64MB of RAM which up until last moth, ran ices with absolutely no complaint. Here are the steps I've taken to resolve this problem: Full update from debian/unstable -no effect Full reinstall of all dependencies using CVS checkouts -ices fails

libshout headers
libshout 2.0 install its header file in /usr/include, whereas ices looks for /usr/include/shout/shout.h. Either one or the other should get fixed. Simple source on Debian
Hello everyone. I just joined this list, and I was wondering if any of you might have any suggestions. I'm looking for a source that will run on Debian, that would simply send mp3 files I have in a folder to my Icecast2 server in a random order. I do not require anything special, like random ads, scheduling support, etc. I've given Liquidsoap a try, but it seems to be far too complex for

ices-2.0.0 compile problems
Jeremy Bierbach wrote: Hi Jeremy > It seems likely to me that you still have libshout 1.x installed. No, it's not that. # rpm -q libshout libshout-2.0-1.dag # rpm -q libshout-devel libshout-devel-2.0-1.dag It's the half-hard-coded shout/shout.h path in the source. Since libshout is installed by rpm in /usr/include, the path will never match. Even if

Possible ICES/Icecast bug
Hi, I wonder if you can help. I am running Icecast 2.4.4, Ices 2.0.2 and libshout 2.4.3. There has been a recent upgrade to libshout and I notice that my previous ices configuration no longer works. In the ices log I get the error message: [2019-07-10 11:10:30] INFO ices-core/main IceS 2.0.2 started... [2019-07-10 11:10:30] INFO signals/signal_usr1_handler Metadata update requested [2019-07-10

Brendan Cully wrote: >This particular error is because you used --with-libshout= instead of --with-libshout Is the above a typo. They look the same with the exception of the "=". I am new to linux so please be forgiving. I downloaded both ices and libshout. I tried to compile with "--with-shout-config=/etc/stream" but this returned the same result as in the previous email:

Simple source on Debian
Hi there. Thanks for the tip about Ices2. Do you know if it's possible to make it work with mp3 files? I only ask because there are several people who stream using my server, and they use mp3. I'm trying to create fallback streams, but in order for that to work, I'd have to get them to switch to ogg or find a way to make Ices work with mp3. Thanks On 6/9/15, Jos? Luis Artuch
