proctitle woes with 2.0.7 vs. 2.0.6
Hello -
I just noticed, that there seems to be a change in the way "process titles" are being set between 2.0.6 and 2.0.7:
Behavior of 2.0.6: (ps aux | fgrep dovecot)

CentOS 7, memory hungry (2.5GB) without user and heavy services running
Hello,
The last weekend, the VM with CentOS 7
(kernel-3.10.0-327.28.2.el7.x86_64) was running with 2.5GB of used memory,
but without users connected, and heavy services running. Three minutes
after reboot, the o.s. is running with 114MB used. ?Why the 62% of memory
is used if the o.s. does not have an intensive load?

ldapsearch w. SSL refuses to connect to server with openssl 1.0.1 (worked with openssl 1.0.0)
Hi,
ldapsearch with an ldaps-URL stopped working recently, probably with the
update from openssl 1.0.0 to openssl 1.0.1.
On a server with up-to-date packages (openssl-1.0.1e-16.el6_5.x86_64,
openldap-clients-2.4.23-32.el6_4.1.x86_64) I get the following errors
when issuing an ldapsearch (some parts anonymized):
[bad]# ldapsearch -H "ldaps://ldap.domain.org:6636/" -D <binddn>

passwd authentication issues (ATTN: Petar)
Hi, Petar,
For whatever reason, I didn't see your most recent reply until I checked the web archives.
To answer your questions...
Is my dovecot running chrooted? Not that I know of. However, the option to (apparently) decide this is confusing at best. Here is what I have entered.
# chroot login process to the login_dir. Only reason not to do this is if you

ident daemon: oIdentd creating a lot of processes
hi! all,
i'm using oidentd-2.0.8 installed through /usr/ports/security/oidentd
for ident authentication
what puzzled me is when im starting the daemon using the script
provided at /usr/local/etc/rc.d/oidentd.sh it will create a lot of
process ID and my system will become slow
CPU resources will turn upside down rapidly from 90+% idle to always 0% idle
this is the PIDs while querying daemon

smbd running multiple times
Dear "someone who can help",
I am having a problem with SAMBA and SWAT (although
I'm not sure SWAT is part of the problem...) I get
two instances of "smbd" when ever it is started on
this system. From SWAT I can only stop it ONE time.
After that, each time I attempt to stop the SMBD
daemon from SWAT it simply starts TWO more instances
of the daemon (or something

predict.lm(...,type="terms") question
Hello all,
How do I actually use the output of predict.lm(..., type="terms") to
predict new term values from new response values?
I'm a chromatographer trying to use R (2.15.1) for one of the most
common calculations in that business:
- Given several chromatographic peak areas measured for control
samples containing a molecule at known (increasing) concentrations,

X windows is taking 99 percent of cpu
I am running centos 4.2 on a P4 3 GIG with 2 GIG ram.
This machine has been fine for months. my laptop is fine.
X is taking 99 percent of the cpu after some time. All I was doing was
editing code.
If I killall -9 X it comes back for a while then maxes out again.
Any ideas on something to tweek??? THanks,
jerry

duplicate commands
Hi,
I just upgraded to CentOS 5.3 last night and see these duplicate
commands (migration/0, migration/1) when running top -c?
Is this normal? If not, how do I fix it to make only one command show
up?

smbmount and PCShare [Helios]
I tried to mount a PCShare file system with smbmount and was
surprised to see that there is a problem while writing files to the
mounted file system. I can read everything and move things an
make directories within the shared file system. But if I try to copy
a file from the local disk (LINUX SuSE 8.1) to the shared file
system I get an I/O error. I suppose that this is not a permission

Why the data got from "top" and "xentop" are different?
Hi All,
I''m a beginner in Xen. Recently I''ve configured one VM (vm03) hosted in my
physical machine. I ran the "netperf" workload in the vm01, and used the
"top" command in the vm03 to test the behavior of the running workload.
Meanwhile, I also used the "xentop" command in domain0 to see the resource
consumption in vm03. Interestingly, I found that

2wav2mp3, monitor, mixmonitor, mpg123, queues
Hello!
I'm using Asterisk for our office telephony, but we have some problems
that still we can't resolve about it. Here they are:
1) merge in/out call recording files
I also tried to use a script I found on the internet, called 2wav2mp3
In extensions.conf I added the following lines
; script to be executed when monitoring has been finished
MONITOR_EXEC=/usr/local/bin/2wav2mp3

SSH/v1 dead processes bug
Should I submit this as a proper bug, or will someone look at it?
Basically, between 4.7-REL and 4.8-REL ssh was upgraded and now exhibits
the following bug.
If you connect with protocol v1 you get three ssh processes, one of
which never dies, even after the ssh session has been closed.
% ps aux | grep ssh

How normal is this memory usage?
The following is from just two invocations of "mongrel_rails". Is
this normal? 57M x 3 seems a little high to me.
This is the latest pre-release, Debian sarge, on my VPS. Two Rails
apps running against SQLite3, with Pound in front.
