Webm files written without duration in header
Dear all
I am streaming live with webm with ffmpeg to icecast 2.4.2. After the
stream ends, I am unable to determine the duration of the file using
ffprobe or mediainfo. Not sure but it seems that this has to do with
headers?
Should icecast be writing the duration into the header or should this
somehow be passed from ffmpeg?
The requirement is really to determine the duration of the streamed

Quick follow up: the displaylist based detection is working well, but

Short Title Bar
It used to be that streamed titles could exceed thirty characters. Ever
since I upgraded to I believe it was version 2.4.0, no matter what I
send, there's a truncation of the artist-plus-title combined sting. At
first, I thought it was an ices-cc problem, but it isn't, because when
live programs connect to the input port, the title bar still cuts off at
thirty characters. I've

live mpeg4 input
I streamed Mpeg4 via QuickTime for several years using the encoder and
Helios server. Worked great with a QT player so it can be done but I don't
know of a way to do it for free.

libvirt-lxc
Hi,
I noticed that libvirt-lxc will be deprecated for RedHat:
"Future development on the Linux containers framework is now based on
the docker command-line interface. libvirt-lxc tooling may be removed in
a future release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (including Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7) and should not be relied upon for developing custom
container management applications." -

live mpeg4 input
Hi,
How can I provide live mpeg4 feed to icecast2 ?
I guess I will have a PAL composite signal or similar for input remotely.
I will typically have a laptop with linux or windows XP available.
I want to use a flash-player for viewing.

A rep_each function
The rep function is very versatile, but that versatility comes at a
cost: it takes a bit of effort to learn (and remember) its syntax.
This is a problem, since rep is one of the first functions many
beginners will come across. Of the three main uses of rep, two have
simpler alternatives.
rep(x, times = ) has rep.int
rep(x, length.out = ) has rep_len
I think that a rep_each function would be a

Gapless concatenation of Opus frames
Hi!
Short version of my question: How to produce Opus frames which can be
safely concatenated and how to embed them into a WebM file?
Long version:
I'm currently implementing a web-based audio player which streams
audio as opus/WebM using the HTML5 media source extensions. Currently,
the server decodes a set of input files to a fixed RAW audio format
(stereo, 48000 kHz) and encodes the
