Hi folks,
actually and once again quite busy I'd really appreciate a quick hint
or explanation...
Somehow I dont get it... :-/
Although I'll soon (as soon I have a more powerful server - actually a
friend of mine is hosting my site in a small cluster) install and use
the icecast-server for my streaming-purposes I don't understand how to

Krad Pipe To
https://gist.github.com/oneman/5394332
This is a little hack for sending -live encoded- WebM streams to Icecast
from STDIN.
An example (I was using libav from git, params likely different between
libav, ffmpeg etc programs)
avconv -v debug -f video4linux2 -s 320x240 -r 10 -i /dev/video0 -vcodec
libvpx -threads 2 -vb 128k -r 10 -f webm pipe:1 | krad_pipe2

Do you have a source on the CoreAudio quality thing? I'd be very interested
in reading more about that.

RFC: New dependency on FFmpeg?
I have a working implementation of the new xaudio2 API in my tree.
Microsoft is treating it as a replacement for dsound[1], and as a
result, this new API is used by lots of recent games; see Bug
26808[2] for some examples.
Most games that use the xaudio2 API use a version of Microsoft's WMA
codec. Wine doesn't currently have the ability to decode this audio
for playback. In order for the

[PATCH] nv50: enable H.264 for NV98+ (VP3, VP4.0)
Create the ref_bo without any storage type flags set for now. This can
probably be split up somehow later on, but this seems to work.

Would be great if someone could see if this also makes MPEG4 work on NVA3+. In
order to do that, remove the if (chipset < 0xc0)

Icecast 'client'
Hi,
Do you see any advantages of such a client? Is there a reason why you think it would exist?

how to create an mpeg4 mimetype (OT)
Hi All,
I think this may be off topic, but since it's through centos 5.2, I'm
not sure.
Here is what I would like to do:
I have created a web page for family to log into and view clips of my
new niece. My camera saves these clips in mpeg4 format. What I would
like to do is have the web clients click on the link and have either the
clip pop up a save dialog or even better, start

live mpeg4 input
I streamed Mpeg4 via QuickTime for several years using the encoder and
Helios server. Worked great with a QT player so it can be done but I don't
know of a way to do it for free.

C6 firefox esr h.264 support on youtube
I was able to get h.264 support on www.youtube.com/html5 on fedora 21 by
installing
gstreamer1-libav
but that package does not exist in C6 (or it's popular third party repos)
What is the name of the package which adds h.264 to firefox on
youtube/html5 in C6?

Icecast 'client'
Hi,
What is wrong with listening to the stream using HTTP on port 8000 on your server?
And what is wrong with using VLC?
/Denis :-)

live mpeg4 input
Hi,
How can I provide live mpeg4 feed to icecast2 ?
I guess I will have a PAL composite signal or similar for input remotely.
I will typically have a laptop with linux or windows XP available.
I want to use a flash-player for viewing.

asterisk 11 and no RTP
I have a CentOS 6.3 machine I installed Asterisk 11, worked fine...
I then tried to install on Cents 5.8, seemed to go fine... Then when I
placed a call I got this:
ast_rtp_instance_new: No RTP engine was found. Do you have one loaded?
Did a search and found issues with ARM and this problem but did not help
me, not using gtalk
or anything. Just call between two polycom phones on local network.

Resample and Relay Using Icecast2
Hi Robert,
Icecast itself doesn't do any resampling of audio streams it receives.
One would likely craft a solution that listens to the original stream
and re-encodes on the fly, providing those alternate bitrate streams
back to Icecast. I've heard people doing this with liquidsoap and other
source clients, and a bit of server-side magic.
Some quick Googling provided me with this link

How to calculate exact bitrate/filesize w/ Vorbis? Plz help
Hi,
I'm quite familiar w/ mp3 cbr/abr/vbr encoding, as well as mpeg4 (cbr/vbr,etc). And I can always calc the bit rate for a given file size with:
file size * 8000 / length in seconds = kbits/sec
Works great w/ mpeg4 + mp3.
BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME: I cannot get oggenc (1.0x version) to give me the file size I want. I calc. it with the above formula, and nothing comes out right. Then I do

I have created a small website trying to document my Ogg/Vorbis support for MPEG4IP.
You can find it here.
