Icecast cannot count users for relay stream
Hello all, I am trying out version 2.3RC3 but it seems it has the same bug as all versions before (including 2.2 KH9 which I used last) When trying to relay an on-demand stream with icecast and also limiting, I always find that icecast counts completely wrong. The first listener is not counted, but icecast connects to the master server, gets the stream and relays. If a second client

forwarded from BoS: Linux anti-SYN flooding patch
I have just finished a patch to linux 2.0.29 that provides the SYN cookies protection against SYN flood attacks. You can grab it from my home page at: http://www.dna.lth.se/~erics/software/tcp-syncookies-patch-1.gz You can also follow the pointers from my home page (see the signature) to get a very short blurb about this patch. Quick synopsys: This implements the SYN cookie defense against SYN

kernel: possible SYN flooding on port 655. Sending cookies.
On a Linux Server running tincd I noticed the following log message in /var/log/messages kernel: possible SYN flooding on port 655. Sending cookies. I found this on the web: If SYN cookies are enabled, then the kernel doesn't track half open connections at all. Instead it knows from the sequence number in the following ACK datagram that the ACK very probably follows a SYN and a SYN-ACK.

Help needed with NFS issue
I have four NFS servers running on Dell hardware (PE2900) under CentOS 5.7, x86_64. The number of NFS clients is about 170. A few days ago, one of the four, with no apparent changes, stopped responding to NFS requests for two minutes every half an hour (approx). Let's call this "the hang". It has been doing this for four days now. There are no log messages of any kind pertaining

windows guest network kept down automatically when several windows guest running in one KVM host,
Hi all: I have some kvm host(rhel 6.4, 2.6.32-358.0.1.el6.x86_64), I ran several windows guest on it(more than 10 guest on one host and the guest os are win7-32/win7-64/win2k8), but the guest network kept down automatically, lost package. FreeBSD firewall block syn flood attack
Hello, I current have a FreeBSD 4.8 bridge firewall that sits between 7 servers and the internet. The servers are being attacked with syn floods and go down multiple times a day. The 7 servers belong to a client, who runs redhat. I am trying to find a way to do some kind of syn flood protection inside the firewall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -- Ryan James ryan@mac2.net

Stream Interruption Troubleshooting
Dear All, Icecast makes it possible that our Community/Student radio station reaches online listeners and it's FM transmitter. Operating with little or not budget, I've set up our streaming several times. Lately we are experiencing audio glitches and dropouts out of nowhere (setup hasn't changed tremendously). Similar cases I found on the list and elsewhere don't give general

Performance tuning questions for mail server
Hi, I have a fedora15 x86_64 host with one fedora15 guest running amavis+spamassassin+postfix and performance is horrible. The host is a quad-core E13240 with 16GB and 3 1TB Seagate ST31000524NS and all partitions are ext4. I've allocated 4 processors and 8GB of RAM to this guest. I really hoped someone could help me identify areas in which performance can be improved at both the guest and
