Sporadic Issues
My last sentence still aplies to the bitrate.
We usually use 80kbps, but sometimes we have used 64kbps (e.g. when
sourcing from a cellular network).
With music you can get the difference, but with voice there's no need to
use more bitrate unless you want more quality in the audio itself.

how to use the stdin module?
Xabier, I mean vlc + Ices2 + Icecast2, I do not know because I do not
work with Windows.
Very interesting a proxi with Icecast2, I will study. I have saved a lot
of work, why do not you tell me before ? :))

Relaying with Icecast - stand-by or active all the time?
You can set globally with the <relays-on-demand>1</relays-on-demand> in the
global <icecast/> section, or you can configure per-relay with <on-demand>.
You can find it in the sample config file. (Does not say much more.)

Relaying with Icecast - stand-by or active all the time?
Hi All,
Will this also bounce new connections to the relay server once the master server is maxed out?

Mike

Hi,
Can the Icecast stream be served over an ssl (https) connection?
If so, can you please tell me how to accomplish this?
Thanks,
Daelynn.

Relaying with Icecast - stand-by or active all the time?
The relaying-configuration seems to be straight-forward, unfortunately it
does not work. That's my configuration:
<relays-on-demand>1</relays-on-demand>
<relay>
<server>http://mp3stream7.apasf.apa.at</server>
<port>8000</port>
<mount>/</mount>
<local-mount>/oe3.mp3</local-mount>
<on-demand>1</on-demand>

setup / configure
hi,
im new to icecast and find hard time in setting up and configuring streams.
it would be great if there is even detailed documentation along with use
cases.
the existing documentation is nice but hard for new user like me to
understand what is sampling and best bit rate and so on.

Hello Satz,
You can configure that behavior from the config file.

I found there is a possibility to let IceCast relay other, existing

how to use the stdin module?
Perhaps I've done something similar but on Debian and not know if it
will work in Windows.
I've used vlc to receive any audio from the Internet and ices2 as a
source client. It works perfectly fine as a repeater.

Hello!
I have seen that if an User Agent has double quotes in it will not be
escaped when printed to access.log:
