Opus vs. Vorbis
Hi Dennis, Thank you very much for this info, it helps a lot! I'm curious about the track changing - I know that this currently is a semi-issue even with my own vorbis streams and some listening clients.. for example, with ffmp3 sometimes the stream will drop between tracks. I'm also curious as to the implementation of "Intro" files (and tracks/live input in general, I guess)

Opus vs. Vorbis
Hello Jordan, I run a test stream in OPUS format. I find the quality of OPUS way better at low bitrates then VORBIS. Thus better quality at lower bitrates, but also on higher bitrates the codec sounds good. Latency is lower, but for broadcasting a radio program for me at the moment it is not that importend, so i did not test that really with icecast (i did test opus low latency but with other

[OT] high quality point-to-point audio streaming software?
Hi Guys Sorry, this is off-topic here but relates to current use of CELT and/or Opus in real-world systems. If there's a better forum to ask this question please let me know. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of software I can use right now that will give me high-quality point-to-point live audio streaming accross the internet. Kind of like Skype, but designed

Icecast Auto DJ
Hello, I’ve a question. I have a station now with Shoutcast and shoutcast transcoder for 2 bitrates. 192kbps mp3 and 64 kbps aac+. I want to transfer these to Icecast. I’ve an working icecast server but i need an auto dj that can encode 2 bitrates, 192kbps mp3 and 64kbps aac. I had a working setup, but my nonstop machine is not on the icecast server but externally. Now in shoutcast transcoder i

AACplus
Sorry for the crosspost but it's relevant to Vorbis and Icecast I believe. I'm seeing more and more streaming stations using AACplus, with many listeners being amazed at the sound quality. Most say that a 48kb/s sounds better than a 128kb/s MP3, which would put Ogg Vorbis at around 96kb/s IMO. That means only half the bitrate is required in AACplus compared to Ogg Vorbis for the same

oddsock.org?
Thanks! I was looking for the streamtranscoder and fopund it at your site. I wanted to convert for a test an OGG stream to OGG FLAC, but that doesn't seem to work. Could be it you never want to convert ogg to ogg flac (lossy to lossles makes no sense) so it is disabled? Anybody tried converting to flac stream? I wanted to use streamconverter, because it nicely reconnects every 10 seconds

DJ Priority with ices-cc or liquidsoap
Hello all, I'm using shoutcast at this moment with shoutcast transcoder 2. In sc trans i can give each deejay an priority, so i give the nonstop (auto dj), offsite an priority of 1, and the deejays 2, so they can login over the autodj. I was testing with ices and liquidsoap but i cant find the setting to give the dj's a priority. Shoutcast transcoder 2 offers an function to broadcast

ices2 memory leak on Debian/ARM (The Darkener)

Frequency of Data
Hello, just another problem in R, maybe it's simple to solve for you. I didn't find a solution up to now, but I'm convinced that I'm not the only one who has/had a similar problem. Maybe there's a ready-made function in R? The prob: I've imported a CSV-file into R with 1000 dates of an observed event (there's only information of the date. When there happend no
