Simple source on Debian
Hi there.
Thanks for the tip about Ices2. Do you know if it's possible to make
it work with mp3 files? I only ask because there are several people
who stream using my server, and they use mp3. I'm trying to create
fallback streams, but in order for that to work, I'd have to get them
to switch to ogg or find a way to make Ices work with mp3.
Thanks

Sporadic Issues
My last sentence still aplies to the bitrate.
We usually use 80kbps, but sometimes we have used 64kbps (e.g. when
sourcing from a cellular network).
With music you can get the difference, but with voice there's no need to
use more bitrate unless you want more quality in the audio itself.

Perhaps I've done something similar but on Debian and not know if it
will work in Windows.
I've used vlc to receive any audio from the Internet and ices2 as a
source client. It works perfectly fine as a repeater.

problems streaming ogg with ices2 and icecast2
Hi there,
I'm trying to stream audio from my audio card using ices2/icecast2. I've
been following the unofficial HOWTO at
http://www.6809.org.uk/media/ices2-howto.shtml. So, I've downloaded and
installed libshout2, ices2 and icecast2.
Everything starts up OK and I can get stats by pointing my browser at the
admin page:

Change bitrate
Hello, good morning !
Running Icecast2 and Ices2 with live audio from Line IN, what is the
correct way to change the bitrate ?.
In the Icecast2 configuration file I set:
<mount type="normal">
????<mount-name>/entzun.opus</mount-name>
????<bitrate>128</bitrate>
</mount>
But it seems that is not enough since the bitrate does not change.

Several Questions about Ices2 & icecast2
Hi,
i have got a linux debian woody box with icecast2 and ices2 on it. I'm
running a 24/7 stream with a huge playlist on my server, but I've got some
questions about it:
1. Is it possible, that ices updates Metadata (Artist - Track) to the
icecast Server in playlist mode?
2. Is there any possibility of controlling ices2 by a webinterface with
functions like nextrack, stop and play,

Simple source on Debian
Hello everyone.
I just joined this list, and I was wondering if any of you might have
any suggestions. I'm looking for a source that will run on Debian,
that would simply send mp3 files I have in a folder to my Icecast2
server in a random order. I do not require anything special, like
random ads, scheduling support, etc.
I've given Liquidsoap a try, but it seems to be far too complex for
