Icecast 2.3.3 + Debian
I'm using KH branch, into production, and work amazing well, with the
latest change into the Worker manager, one server can handle 25k concurrent
users with 8 cores, using nothing of ram... really the KH branch work
amazing well.

hello,
I am tying to get to the bottom of why my icecast server crashed and
failed to restart.
The last entry in the error log is this:

I'll pipe in.
The company I work for has 1000+ audio (and some video) streams, serving
tens of thousands of listeners per stream, running on both icecast and
icecast-kh and _both_

maximum file descriptor limit - icecast freeze
Hi!
A week ago I had a blocked icecast server because of the open files. I
read some posts about the 1024 fd limit but this is not the case. My
stations rarely has 300 listeners. From the log I can see that around
3PM I had 7 listeners on a mount and 35 on another one. Then, suddenly
the only line written to the log is

Bounty for function to monitor an OGG-VORBIS stream
If this is the wrong place to post this, please forgive me, and PLEASE
point me to the correct place.
I am looking to hire someone to write a function to scan a ogg-vorbis
stream running on Debian etch and checking for two things. The first is
static, the second is "dead-air". The function require no GUI, just read
a configuration file for the url to scan and how many seconds of

Bandwidth Calculations
OK if I go with say HE-AAC or Opus, can I still encode as mp3? I am
using Butt as my source encoding. Can Butt be configured to encode
using these codecs instead of their codecs its defaulted to?
Still a bit unclear on the method to calculate a 128k stream with
6,000 GB available bandwidth over 30 days to give an estimated average
user connections possible.

Intro file will not pre-pend stream
HI!
So I’ve been at this for a few days with no luck. I am trying to pre-pend my stream with an intro file (mp3).
I’ve saved the mp3 file (for the intro) the same as the stream > in my test right now it is set up stereo, 112kbps, 44100hz.
I can play the file independently in a browser from the webfoot location.
I can play the stream with no problems.
I have modified my icecast.xml to include
