Yes the barix extreamers work fine with icecast. I used to use them as studio to transmitter links for a radio station. Hardware Internet radio devices stream ogg/vorbis?
Hey Paul, Thanks for the reply! If you wanted you could try my radio stream, http://stream.socorock.com:8000/socorock.ogg.m3u - that's really good news, I think I'm gonna pick up one of these things soon! What a great way to listen to radio. Cheers, Jordan On 02/26/2012 12:01 AM, Paul Webster wrote: > The Grace and Logitech devices can play streaming OGG. I have different models of

ices2 memory leak on Debian/ARM (The Darkener)
Hi Keith, As I explained before, Valgrind won't run in my arch. I'll Google for some other memory leak detection tools, however. Thank you for your input...I look forward to helping fix this bug! - Jordan On 01/10/2012 07:43 AM, Keith Roberts wrote: > *snip* > There's a Linux memory profiler called: > > "Valgrind" is a multipurpose code profiling and memory

Introduction + Patch
Hi, I'm new here so an introduction. I'm Stefan de Konink, I have a diverse past, present and future in coding, content creation and a background in speech research. As introduced on #celt I want to do some promotion for the codec. I was positively surprised by the availability of something 'almost done' and totally usable in the form of celtclient.c, attached is a tiny

How to cleanly remove a DC from Samba domain?
I used Apache Directory Studio to remove the "RID Set" node and after that a simple "samba-tool computer delete DC2" worked just fine. Perhaps the version of Samba in TurnKey Linux V16.1 has a bug (4.9.5-Debian)? Likely demotion should remove leaf nodes from domain controllers as part of the process. I have now recreated DC2 using TurnKey Linux V17.1 (4.17.6-Debian) and so

Turnkey Samba 4 Solutions?
H - I'm a Resara Server user - Resara Server was a turnkey Samba 4 system. I have been lurking on this list, trying to decide what way to go for the future. I've seen some post regarding moving from Resara, but I'm not sure if I want to "get my hands dirty" - I've enjoyed the simplicity of Resara. Are there any other turnkey Samba solutions? Or simple cookbook solutions?

Hardware RackMount Codec?
Hello all. I've been a fan of the xiph project for some time, thank you for your excellent work. I am looking for a fully-developed, beta, or alpha open-source hardware platform for remote deployment to terrestrial fm transmitters and streaming to general internet listeners. Willing to participate in development/beta testing of projects or possible $ support for an existing project. Able

Samba as an active directory
Dear, After a few attempts I now have my first Samba installed and running as active directory (on Debian-Turnkey) Topics I struggle with are not Samba itself, yet. I seek help to clarify wat is failing, what I did wrong or did not do yet. 1. Joining the domain: fails to resolve SRV type record for \_ldap.\_tcp.dc.\_msdcs.<domain> (typos here are mine, correct on machine) 2. Fail of 1 is

Turnkey alternatives to fonality or switchvox?
Hey all, First-time poster and been following the list for some time. Great postings, all... Currently we're implementing the voipconnection vs-1 for a customer. It's a decent device, and the included admin interface leaves a lot to be desired... The idea of the storing settings compact flash is nice, although sometimes they choose not to stick. All in all, we're thinking about

Fully-Virtualized XEN domU not Booting over iSCSI
Hello, I am currently trying to move my VMs from running on local host storage to a shared storage (trying out iSCSI) but I am facing a bit of a booting dilemma. The domUs are a mix of paravirtualized and fully-virtualized VMs. They all boot and run like clockwork when on local storage. The paravirtualized domUs appear not to have a problem when I relocate and boot them from the shared storage

Opus vs. Vorbis
Hi all, I've been looking at opus lately as a replacement to vorbis and it sure seems to me that, at least on paper, it is the 'next generation' streaming codec. Has anyone been using opus as a streaming codec to Icecast? If so, how do the following general characteristics compare to vorbis? + Quality + Latency + Bandwidth + Performance (on stream client and Icecast server) +
