How well does printing support scale in Samba 2.2.x ?
Hi, I'm working on a printing project consolidating a bunch of NT machines with a Solaris printing machine. I'm concerned about the scalability if I increase the number of printers from say 20 too 300. How does it effect the response time for looking up and changing device setting etc. Thanks Gunnar Gunnarsson

Ice Cast Limited to 1019 connections
Hi All, I've got a strange problem with Centos 5.9 64bit running Ice Cast, soon as the server hit 1019 connections it dies. Set the fs-file-max to 65535 and added in hard & soft no files to 655535 yet still not joy. (Ice Cast listeners are set to over 5K connections) Has anyone come across this problem? Kind Regards, Mike

Smooth Linux icecast source GUI
Hi , I'm currently helping a small french Radio they Use Edcast for now on some old Windows XP machines and it's not really reliable at all although Edcast is a great piece of free software Then they might migrate to a Linux Box , but apart from darksnow I can't find a Linux GUI that would match the graphical ease of edcast. maybe the best would be a Web frontend for DarkIce but I

Problems with userPassword when it's base64 encoded
I'm switching from OpenLDAP to the newly released Fedora Directory Server (formely known as the Netscape Directory Server) as a LDAP backend for my Samba domain. I'm now faced with a problem regarding how Fedora DS handles the userPassword field. Unlike OpenLDAP it encodes it in base64 so instead of reading userPassword: {SSHA}0lP+r3Z1NVan7Caf4CG9oSgnTbQRrv/p it reads: userPassword::

icecast eating CPU in Debian
Hello! I have had problems with icecast beginning to eat all my CPU lately. I use the icecast2-2.4.4 source on Debian testing, I have recompiled it for SSL support. The hardware is amd64. I see nothing particular in the log files. One thing I can think of is that I have liquidsoap asking icecast if some mount points are up. It looks like this in the log files: 10.0.0.6 - -

Any android source client for icecast ?
Try "XIIALive Lite", it works perfectly for my Icecast/Vorbis stream. The 'lite' version is free and works fine (ad supported). *xiialive*.com // On 11/16/2011 06:33 AM, michel memeteau wrote: > Hi all , > > Just wondering if any Android icecast source is on the Way. > > the point is that I build a mobile Icecast source with 3G. Problem plotting continuous and discrete series in ggplot with facet
I have data that plots over time with four different variables. I would like to combine them in one plot using facet_grid, where each variable gets its own sub-plot. The following code resembles my data require(ggplot2) require(reshape2) subm <- melt(economics, id='date', c('psavert','uempmed','unemploy')) mcsm <- melt(data.frame(date=economics$date,

using Icecast source client as PulseAudio source
There are many Icecast source clients[1] available now. The Coolmic[2] app is particularly interesting because it can turn a Android phone (e.g. SmartLav+ lapel mic[3]) into a wearable mic for presenters. Not everybody is keen to run Icecast though, some people may want to mix-and-match the Icecast source clients like that with some other broadcasting platform, Jitsi Meet[4], Zoom or whatever.
