I have been having a problem with my icecast server running on CentOs. Occasionally, the service will stop running, but it will fail to restart because the subsys is locked. If the service stops, I need to manually log into my VPS, delete the empty file in /var/lock/subsys and restart the icecast service. When you chroot an executable, you are changing the root directory to the configured path, so you have to account for that in the config file.
