Can't support more than one listener
I'm running Icecast 3.2.1 on Windows 7 on my new computer and I've tried streaming with oddcast as well as shoutcast, but for some reason only one listener at a time can hear the stream. I'm running Icecast 2.3.1 on Windows XP on my old computer streaming with oddcast, and it supports multiple listeners just fine. Can anyone think of what is wrong with Icecast on my new computer?

Sources can't connect to my server
I have IceCast 2.3.1 running on Window XP SP3 as a windows service. My computer is behind a d-link router, and the router is configured to pass through to port 8000 on my computer. On the same computer I am running WinAmp with an oddcast dsp and streaming work fine, people beyond my router can listen no problem. I also have a laptop running Windows Vista SP2 with WinAmp and a Spacial dsp,

Who sets the mount point?
On Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 02:49:18PM -0700, Eric Kolotyluk wrote: > Sorry for what seems like a real newbie question, but who actually sets > the mount point? Is it the client/source, the icecast.xml file, or both? As I understand it, a source client has to specify a mount point when it connects. If that mount point was already specified in the icecast server config, then the associated

Listener statistics on a fallback stream
Hello, I've come across a small problem and I'm not sure it's a bug or a misconfiguration in icecast, so I thought I'd ask here. The situation: we have an automated radio station that is fed from a dedicated virtual machine with SAM broadcaster. I set up a stream with a fallback mount; SAM connects to the fallback. Now, whenever the DJ wants to broadcast live all he has to do is

Mystery Samba (3.4.1) and Win7
Hi! I read many threads and tried many "solutions" but I can't get Win7 (RTM, 64 bit) and Samba 3.4.1 to work together. I am still failing with the "trusteeship" problem during the first logon after domain join. Is there a working solution? regards Martin

Authentication listener configuration
Hi, I'm wondering about the authentication listeners that dovecot uses. In many configurations I see: service auth { unix_listener auth-userdb { Does any component of dovecot use this listener internally (lmtp, lda ...) and does that read the config and search for the listener, or is the exact name "auth-userdb" expected? Is this maybe dependent on the userdb? Which ones need it?

System Requeriments for a number of listeners
Hello: Someone can help me to determine the system requeriments for a given number of listeners...? I know the Bandwidth and the quality are directly related to the number of listeners we can support with an Icecast server...but some of you have any idea of the memory and cpu requeriments for each listener connected? I need to buy my new server... Regards Daniel -------------- next part

What about scrapping the access logs for connections that have completed, or utilizing netstat outputs to get active listeners (minus sources)? Either of those options would get you remote IP addresses, both a slightly different view in that logs are after a connection closes, while netstat is while the connection is open. -----Original Message----- From: Icecast-dev <icecast-dev-bounces at

encoder->server->listener lag
We're running a setup with M3W on a PC in Sri Lanka, encoding to a server in the UK. What factors govern the time delay between things being said to the microphone in SL and heard by a client connecting to the server, and how can we reduce it as much as possible? Currently we're experiencing 20-30 secs or more.

Caching current events for new listeners
Hi, I'm trying to work out how one would go about caching "interesting" packets from a stream to be sent to newly connecting listeners. At the moment, for, eg, Theora and Vorbis, the only interesting packets are the recent ones (up to a keyframe for theora), but, in my case, I can have old packets be still active while newer packets are obsolete, as packets are sorted by their

Current Listeners count wrong for HTML Audio on Android?
Dear all, The problem I am facing, is that one of my clients is concerned about data usage. My client monitors the current number of listeners in the Mount Point list streams.greenhost.nl:8080. The case is, when I start a stream from an HTML app on an Android device, I can see two listeners being added to "Current Listeners". This peculiar behaviour only occurs on Android, not on

Who sets the mount point?
This is what i found out in use with the icecast servers. Mounts Can be made by each of the following: 1> The icecast.xml file define a mount with a username/password for this mount. Since most our broadcaster using edcast to broadcast the username is set to source. 2> The use of the global source password can create a dynamic mount. But, the best way is to define it in the

can't access admin webpages with N-1 listeners active
Hi, Stumbled into a problem with icecast-2.3.1 (a recent daily svn snapshot). We have 6 spec'd in the xml for the (one and only) mountpt's <mount/max-listeners>. The <limit/clients> near the top of the xml is also set to 6 (as seen on the sample xml dists). When we get up to N-1 listeners, we cannot access the admin webpages from localhost or anywhere-else-host. Here's

Listener stats
Hello Jordan Thanks for the reply.  I commented out all the fields in the status-json.xsl but it didn't give me the listener IP.  The example below would show me the source IP.  I can get the IP from the web interface at this location, http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients.xsl?mount=/dhantal, but that means I would have to scrape the web interface which I don't want to do.
