Hello Icecast Developer,
I hope, that I'm right here.
My favorit Multimedia Player (VLC-Player) from Videolan can not play current a single Radiostation in the Icecast Radios List "http://dir.xiph.org/yp.xml". The "Icecast Radio Directory" in the VLC-Player does'nt find any Icecast Radiostation.
I get an Error in Line 51875, column 75

What's best practice for serving multiple formats from a remote icecast server?
We are running an icecast2 server in conjunction with our LPFM radio
station and need a little advice.
We have been serving a single 128k ogg stream from a remote server and
would like to make additional formats available (e.g. mp3, lower
bandwidth, etc.)
I would think this has been done a few thousand times and there would be
a "best practice" but I can't find it.

Error Syncing to MPEG
I am trying to relay a streamtuner Live365 stream across a ssh tunnel to
a remote XP pc, where I would pick it up using winamp.
I have a similar setup with a non-live365 stream routed using
streamripper to port 9001 and this plays correctly in winamp
For my Live365 stream, I have a RealVNC root session that is streaming
the Live365 broadcast from streamtuner (using XMMS). I can see XMMS

Akos...Darkice questions
This is probably sacrilegious to speak of Shoutcast here but that's what I am streaming to right now. Just a couple questions about Darkice...
quality is set to 0.5 by default. What's the range for this and what kind of effect does it have on the audio and the load on the system?
I've set the "public" variable to yes so it will advertise to Shoutcasts directory but

libshout: Streaming MPEG Audio Layer 2
Hi,
I'm not anywhere near an expert, but I had successfully used
Darkice, TwoLame, and Icast231 to netcast a mp2 stream. If it
will help, here is a snip from the related area of my darkice.cfg:
[icecast2-1]
format = mp2
bitrateMode = cbr
bitrate = 384
quality = 1.0
server = 127.0.0.1
port = 32710

Icecast server YP Woes... take 2
I am having problem with icecast2/winamp oddcast dsp/darkice being listed on
dir.xiph.org and dir.oddsock.org. Now I've scanned the mailing list and
found that there was a previous issue, however if I use icecast on Windows
XP it works fine, but not from Fedora Core 1. I've made sure to check my
config files multiple times and looked at the error logs but I still can't
figure

lld-link /ALIGN option doesn't work for the "execute in place (XIP)"
Hi Rui,
We meet a problem when enable the execute in place (XIP, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Execute_in_place) for uefi firmware with lld-link. We need to set the COFF executable file SectionAlignment through the lld-link /ALIGN option, but we find the SectionAlignment is hardcoded to 4096 which cause the /ALIGN option doesn't work at all. Below is the hardcode in lld:

Log says yp updated but does not appear at dir.xiph.org
On Windows XP I am running WinAMP to the Shoutcast server and then using
an Icecast 2.2.0 server as a relay. The idea is to have a single source
stream appear on both Shoutcast and Icecast directories.
The log gives the following lines repeatedly but my server does not show
when I search for it at http://dir.xiph.org and does not appear under
the Icecast Stream Directory on WinAmp.

Directory Listing on http://dir.xiph.org/
Hello everyone!
I am having a issue with what I am doing wrong here to get listed in
the xiph.org public directory. I have the newest
icecast-2.3.99.3_beta3, loaded on a Win7 box acting as server, and
using BUTT to encode the source at 32kbps, mono, .mp3, from VLC
playlists. I have the server config set to public, and have this code
in the icecast.xml file:

Hi Marvin,
Thanks for your reply. It turns out my debug error logs were going to /dev/stderr, have since fixed this. Here is the complete error log. I've highlighted what I believe to be the problem. Thanks.

using the latest icecast and ices to stream both ogg and mp3
So basically, I download and install ices 0.3, fire it up as well and
then using the currently running icecast server, just set a new
mountpoint. Instead of /ksl.ogg I would make a /ksl.mp3 mountpoint. This
would be configured in the configuration file included with ices 0.3?
I am only doing live streaming, feeding a raw audio feed into the box,
and then encoding it on the fly.
Thanks much.

RE: Mediacast1 yp dir update
The ice-* headers are the standard protocol for connecting to icecast2, the
trouble is making all source clients adhere to the standard. The option is
to be very militant about it, and basically deny any source clients that do
not connect with the ice-* headers , but we chose the more compatable
route...although there is a limit to this compatability....I would strongly
urge darkice to use

Ah ha! I think I found the problem. Remember my setup is:
xmms -> darkice 0.7 -> relay icecast server -> main icecast server
|
+->to other networks
Darkice has:
public = yes
So I check
