there's no way you can *mix* the spot with other content using Icecast. As
has been pointed out, you'd have to do this at the source of your other
content.

Some metadata missing, relaying icecast1 stream with icecast2
I'm relaying an icecast1 mp3 stream with icecast2. This works fine,
and the song title is displayed correctly no matter if I use
<relay-shoutcast-metadata>1</> or not on the relay.
But, the stream name and other metadata provided by ices0 on the
icecast1 server is not displayed in the listening client.

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and
Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp.
But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have
not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast
compatibility.
So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the
other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast

Streaming
Hi,
I am using a ccRTP to provide streaming over RTP.
I would like to know if Ices0 could be used to send MP3 Streaming for a
Player. I need fragments MP3 file to streaming, so I think that IcesO
does it. I am not sure but I understood that Ices0 does the stream to
Icecast server send.

shoutcast to icecast2 issues
relaying a shoutcast stream via icecast2 is pretty much unlistenable --
it constantly stutters.
for example,
shoutcast relay -- http://205.188.234.1:8030/listen.pls
icecast2 relay -- http://liveradio.indymedia.org:8001/sf-hifi.mp3.m3u

relaying IceCast from ShoutCast
Hi;
Has anyone successfully relayed an Icecast stream using Shoutcast? I
realize that this is backwards! However, several organizations that want to
use our streams use Shoutcast, I really don't want to setup shoutcast and
Icecast, but unless I can relay an Icecast stream with Shoutcast, I'm going
to have to.
Thanks,
Fred

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
I can understand wanting to boost the adoption of Xiph codecs, but I think restricting the directory to vorbis streams only will not help this endeavour. I can imagine it will just piss a lot of people, including myself, and give Xiph a bad name.
I get very few listeners of my AAC+ stream now since this occured. The restriction is not an insentive to switch to Ogg Vorbis at all. The incentive

make giss.tv as slave
Hi all there.
I am trying to set up an icecast2 server (wich is already running) to
send some stream mount point to another server. I mean, my server is
streaming at /radio1.mp3 mount point. We can listen it at
http://myserver:8000/radio1.mp3; so, i want to know if is there any
way to "clone" that strem and send it to another server, such as
http://giss.tv:8000/radio1.mp3

shoutcast to icecast2 issues
btw i just noticed that the icecast2 relay sounds fine in whamb (mac os
x mp3/ogg client). so it does seem that some clients don't have the
problem. here's the relay configs we're using:
<relay>
<server>server.to.be.relayed</server>
<port>8000</port>
<mount>/</mount>

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
I thought the YP code was going to be fixed to use less resources so it
could be used with other stream formats. It seems to be taking a long
time.
As it is now, Icecast2 is not a good solution for those wanting to be on
a popular directory. I am forced to recommend using Shoutcast to my
clients so they can get onto a popular directory. I would prefer to
recommend Icecast2.

relaying
Just to refresh my memory, is it possible to relay a stream from
elsewhere? We have a DSL line here and 2 machines that listen to the same
shoutcast stream and dont want to clog the connection.
Mind providing an example for that portion of the config?
<p>Thanks in advance!

example config for icecast2 relaying
Is anyone doing pull relaying under icecast2? I think I've got my
configuration file more or less correct but I wanted to check it against
someone else's working config. Would anyone be willing to post an
example here?
I have a machine labelled X in a local DMZ where audio is being fed in
directly. I am encoding this audio and then streaming it out. I have a
machine labelled Y that sits at

Icecast's YP bugs
Ok I've been discovering many bugs in Icecast's YP implementation..
The most serious of which is, if a YP server is rejecting a stream the
server has a memory leak which, as it continues to re-try to publish
it's rejected streams, grows until the server segfaults. On our server,
for instance, we're relaying shoutcast streams (which does not relay the
stream name and other

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi,
Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or
can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the
quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though.
And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!?
I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps
prebuffering. I need something

[Newbie Q] Relay to an Icecast server apparently not relaying?
The main stream is going to a Shoutcast server via Winamp. Works fine. A
Relay stream goes to Live365. Works fine.
I set up a Relay under SAM to point to the Icecast server running on another
box on the network. In SAMs Realy section it tells me that it's connected -
and Icecast seems to be telling me the same thing. Obviously I'm missing
something in the setup of IceCast - I think?

Push relay from nicecast with icecast2?
Greetings,
I have some confusion. I've seen it mentioned, somewhere in some docs,
that Icecast2 does not (as yet) support Push relaying. Is this actually
the case? Should I be looking at icecast1 (which does support push
relay, I believe) until such capability is implemented on icecast2? Or
should I be creating a combination of both? Or what?
Here's my situation:
I have a customer

understanding error.log
Thanks! That worked.
In regards to the other part of my question - do you
have to be relaying from a shoutcast or icecast
source? Can the source not have a port number? For
example: http://xxx.xxx.xxx/stream.mp3
Thanks again.

relaying IceCast from ShoutCast
I've been thinking more about this. It would be really nice if Icecast
could add a port to a mountpoint and emulate whatever information Shoutcast
requests when it relays a shoutcast stream. This way Shoutcast could relay
Icecast streams.
