How to killsource from command line?
They should work :P
but if it the local server try using 127.0.0.1 for the server name
instead, lot of server are not configure correctly to know what their
address is.
also the syntax user:Pass at servername should work also.
I use it allot on a remote control server to force a client to drop.
But one thing you have to make sure is that they not on reconnect in
the client or it will

Parsing status.xsl
hi
i work for a non-for-profit broadcaster and we use Icecast to serve a
number of community radio stations - and it does a great job.
i'd like to parse or edit the status.xsl file into a series of files
that only show information for one mountpoint or station at a time.
i have no idea of XSL syntax but looking at
/usr/share/icecast/content/status.xsl i see the following statement
pair:

Use web admin to re-start source?
Thank you. In this case, the source client is the fallback mount, which
is an mp3 file.
I think I found my issue.
The code in icecast.xml looks like this:
<mount type="normal">
<mount-name>/stream</mount-name>
<max-listeners>6</max-listeners>
<burst-size>65536</burst-size>

Parsing status.xsl
Thanks for the tip on those scripts. They're exactly what I've been
looking for for a number of years now.
Althogh the first one doesn't seem to be online anymore. If anyone's
willing to send it to me, I'd love to host it for anyone else that
would like to download it in the future.

Regardless of the xsl files.
Can't we communicate with the icecast server directly to retrieve the
information ??

Digging Deep into the XML
Hey all, I?ve been working with IceCast for the last month, I?m really
getting into it. I?ve started developing some of my own windows based
reporting tools on it. (Will be released to the public..free of course) I
had a few questions tho..
1. There is a problem on the windows version of IceCast, where if you
play a song such as Queensr?che (with the special char for the y) it tends
to make

Ok - I've had 5 seg faults in the last 24 hours which is a pain, as
you can imagine. I crona script once per minute to restart Icecast
in the event that it fails so the service is never down for more than
59 secs

Yes. Though I don't know if using an arbitrary one works from the admin
directory. Certainly you can put them in icecast's webroot directory (or some

Load balancing Icecast - aggregated logs
We use a dns failover solution include roundrobin. Its not super fast but in 120 seconds the solution work. So thats a good backup solution for the most radio stations.
Have anyone on php load balancing solution working on a webserver?

icecast stats
I don't mind using the password.
Just I am asking if there is some sort of protocol to retrieve the
information without playing with the xsl !!
I mean, to directly retrieve the wanted information, like
ME: Get MetaData
Server: Celin Dion - All comes back to me.

Use web admin to re-start source?
Hi,
I see that I can use the "Kill Source" button on the Icecast admin web
page to kill our fallback.mp3 file.
Now that I have killed the fallback file, I don't see a way to re-start
it. Do I need to stop / start the icecast service?
