Mostly right.

Time for log entries
I'm running Icecast 2.3.1 on a Windows 2000 platform with Simplecast feeding a live stream with multiple mount points. At scheduled points in the day, I have a scheduler that launches EZstream that overrides one of the mountpoints for a local 1 hour insert.
Since we went back to standard time last weekend, the log entries in error.log have shown that the EZstream overrides have occurred

Forcing individual clients to alternate mount points
Greetings
I'm new to the forum but have been streaming successfully with
SimpleCast/IceCast2 for about 8 months. Both Simplecast and IceCast2
are running on the same Win2K system. Now I want to do something that
has me stumped. It really is a two pronged problem.
Here's the setup:
Icecast is encoding the same live audio to multiple mount points,
allowing me to easily track the

Access.log
I'm using Simplecast to feed 8 mount points of a 24/7 live stream to Icecast on a win platform. When I have the Statistics Relays graphing activated, I get an entry each minute in Access.log for each of the mount points.
That particular entry is pretty much useless but of course, being able to see the IP address of client drops can be useful. This log grows to mammoth proportions unless I

Strange occurrence
I had something happen the other night that I just can't explain. It may not be an Icecast issue at all, but I thought it was interesting enough to post.
I have a private stream with 6 mountpoints, all receiving the same 32 kbps mp3 stream from Simplecast. Both Simplecast & Icecast are running on the same Win2k system. The configuration allows me to track the comings and goings of

Overhead of individual mount points
I'm running a private stream which only has a handful of clients. I have found it convenient to create a separate mount point on my encoder (Simplecast) for each client. This allows me to track the current client list using the tools built into Simplecast. It also allows me to do custom streams when required on a per-destination basis.
All mount points are normally running the same

Newbie question ... fallback mounts
Attached is my config file. The purpose is to interrupt my regular
stream sith a station (stream) ID once per hour (time synchronized
externally).
I use ezstream to play the pre-recorded stream ID.
I never hear the stream ID while listening to the stream. (There is a
10 second break in the stream once per hour) What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

using ezstream with stdin
I'm having a hard time not getting mp3 data to ezstream via stdin fast
enough. The vb.net application I'm writing, ezstream and icecast are all
running on the same machine (Widows XP). Some where in the process, a
buffer empties out and that results in a drop out when you are
listening. Usually the dropout happens at a song change.
At first I was chunking up the data according to bit

overlaying prerecorded content over a live stream...
Hello everyone!
I've been looking into using icecast to help get some terrestrial
radio stations into Internet broadcasting. One of their requirements
is that they have the ability to overlay internet-only content over
the regional commercials that they run during their programming - ie,
during breaks between their normal programming, they don't want ads
from their advertisers

Using ardj with ezstream
Hello everybody. I would like to ask a question. Does anybody here know how to use ardj with ezstream? I have been trying to find some documentation on how to get it set up and working properly. But, I cannot find any. So, I hope that one of you knows how to use the software in conjunction with each other, because I would like to set up an intelligent scheduler that includes, jingles, and other

playlist streaming
is it true it's not possible to start or stop indvidual streams using icecast2+icegenerator(liveice,ezstream) combination?
i've tried mp3 directory streaming as well as playlist streaming - it works, but with no possibility to see full mp3 file listing and play control (like choosing a song, starting, stopping play). Icecast can't even diferentiate /dev/dsp input from playlist input.

EZStream Question
Can it, or will it ever be able to, process .CUE files along with the
MP3 streams? If not, this would be a *VERY* VERY* valuable feature, as
a popular playout system in common use can now create .CUE files when
recording programs for later airing.

24/7/365 ogg-vorbis client
Don't know if this is the proper place for this question ...
I'm setting up an audio stream from a public radio station's studios to a
remote transmitter. We're using icecast for the server, and it's performed
remarkably well (it's been up for over two years now).
I need a client for the remote location. Requirements are it must run on
linux, come up at boot, operate

I'm afraid I don't know all the places to look for logs that might tell me something. My script that keeps MPG123 running keeps a log of all reboots and outages. A reconnect that lasts less than one minute is counted as continuous outage.

Buffer in IceCast
Hi Tom,
You might be right, but I don't get why my existing downloads (I guess they
are on different routes) are not affected. If my ADLS provider is doing some
IP adjustments (btw my IP is static) I expect everything to disconnect, not
only my icecast connection. So I'll monitor my USRobotics logs today and
tomorrow so see if there is something strange.
