Large mbox files.
I'm very sorry if this is a faq. I've spent considerable time reading
documentation and doing Google searches to no avail...and the mailing list
archive isn't searchable as far as I can tell.
Anyway, the question: When I try to open a large mbox file from Squirrel Mail I
receive the following Dovecot error:

Some final notes: Backup Exec & Samba shares
Good day, gang,
Chris McKeever was kind enough to write back to me over the weekend regarding the problems I'd experienced in using Backup Exec 8.x and 9.x to connect to Samba shares on a NetBSD system. Between his comments and my direct experience, I've only found ONE combination that will work, and that is: NetBSD 1.6, Samba 2.2.8a, and Backup Exec 8.6. If you take NetBSD up to 1.6.1,

Faceted bar plot shows wrong counts (ggplot2)
I have encountered a problem with faceted bar plots. I have tried to
create something like the example explained in the ggplot2 book (see pp.
126-128):
library(ggplot2)
mpg4 <- subset(mpg, manufacturer %in%
c("audi", "volkswagen", "jeep"))
mpg4$manufacturer <- as.character(mpg4$manufacturer)
mpg4$model <- as.character(mpg4$model)

MSDFS redirection WinXP SP2
I am currently having problems accesing our samba msdfs shares from
Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 and WinXP SP1 seem unaffected. I have
attached the smb.conf and the exports files that define the shares.
Running ethereal on the different clients seems to point to the fact
that XP SP2 no longer seems to be using the netbios-ssn (139) port. for
GET_DFS_REFERRAL instead its using microsoft-ds

RNetCDF: retrieving variable names and units
Dear List,
does anybody has experience with the RNetCDF package? I manage to open a connection and copy data from a ncdf file but would need a way to automatically retrieve variable names (ideally all of them from one file) and units from the file.
Any ideas?

tc not matching
Dear all,
I''m having real problems getting tc to do anything useful at all. I''m
also under pressure to get this fixed before the students start arriving
later this month (I work in a university).
In short, I want each IP address to be hard limited to 128kbit down,
64kbit up, never to be allowed more bandwidth than this. It is also
important that the latency remains

on the philosophical aspects of a specification
a specification will _eventually_ be used, by someone,
to tell the user they are doing things "wrong", won't it?
and doesn't that turn markdown's genesis upside-down?
heck, next thing you know we'll be telling them to r.t.f.m.
i would prefer that implementers get more sophisticated
about teasing out the user's intent in "ambiguous" cases.

I'm curious how people think the following *should* be interpreted:

As you can see, implementations split into three groups here:
(a) treat as an unordered list

(b) treat as an unordered list with an ordered

samba/AD expert? for pay?
Howdy.
What's a good way to locate a Samba/Active Directory expert (for pay)?
I just don't have time to read every HOWTO I can find, and the many
hours I've spent trying to apply the scraps of things I've read have
been nearly fruitless.
I will provide a list of goals, and assuming the expert agrees all goals
are achievable, I (my company) would gladly pay for that expert to

Samba 3.0alpha18 PDC and winbindd 3.0alpha18 client communication
The question is, does the group mapping on the PDC working yet in alpha18
and is it possible for winbindd to talk to it properly? I am having
difficulty on having the group information being passwd to a linux
fileserver. Has anyone successfully gotten this to work?

Problem with retrieve.nc of clim.pact
Goodmorning to everyone,
I'm new so sorry for bad english and formulation.
I go to the point: I am using since months the retrieve.nc function from
clim.pact to extract data from netcdf files. I always had no problem, but
some days ago I updated both R and the package to the latest versione (don't
ask me what was the previous R version, cause I don't remember).
However, now i am in

KSCSV.ocx registry failure?
I'm not familiar with much in the way of windows or wine - I'm trying to get some software (Bently Repair Manual) (http://www.bentleypublishers.com/volkswagen/repair-information/vw-golf-jetta-gti-repair-manual-1999-2005-a4-ebahn.html) that won't run on a win 7 (XP required) system to run in wine.
I had to use winetricks to install MFC42.dll, so I understand that sort of voids
