understanding error.log
Hello. A couple questions. When I execute curl http://myserver.xxx.xxx:8000/test.mp3 , I get "<b>The source you requested could not be found.</b>" I've placed my error.log and icecast.xml files below. Could someone help me understand my error.log a little better - to maybe see why I'm not getting a stream when I make the above curl call. Also, you'll see in

Thanks! That worked. In regards to the other part of my question - do you have to be relaying from a shoutcast or icecast source? Can the source not have a port number? For example: http://xxx.xxx.xxx/stream.mp3 Thanks again. j --- Karl Heyes <karl@xiph.org> wrote: > On Thu, 2005-07-28 at 20:42, j h wrote: > > Hello. A couple questions. > > > > When I execute

Relaying with Icecast - stand-by or active all the time?
The relaying-configuration seems to be straight-forward, unfortunately it does not work. That's my configuration: <relays-on-demand>1</relays-on-demand> <relay> <server>http://mp3stream7.apasf.apa.at</server> <port>8000</port> <mount>/</mount> <local-mount>/oe3.mp3</local-mount> <on-demand>1</on-demand>

SMP support
Hi, I have recently installed an Icecast 2.3.1 on a couple of dual Xeon CPU x64 server. The server is configured with chroot & changeowner. In order to have an idea of a server's capabilities, used the curl-based script given in http://www.icecast.org/loadtest1.php. I have around 3.5k connections from one server to the other one, on an unique 170Kbps MP3 mountpoint, totalizing 720 Mbit/s

for most stations that have this kind of listener capacity, they are getting bandwidth from AOL/Nullsoft. Nullsoft had (may still have) a policy of offering free bandwith to stations they hand-picked. They were tapping into the rather huge amount of bandwidth that AOL had, and thus could offer the kind of listener capacity you are seeing. Alternatively, many stations also operate on

Victor, I just spent hours searching for the solution to the same problem you are having using samba version 3.0.25b after an upgrade from version 3.0.10. the resolution for me was posted by Volker Lendecke: " > Make sure that the fully qualified domain name and your host name > differ in the sense that you actually have a domain appended. > > Under Linux, "hostname"

I might be wrong but icecast can’t do it on its own, what it receives is what it streams. That been said, your best bet is liquidsoap for transcoding and icecast as a streaming server. בתאריך יום א׳, 15 באוק׳ 2017 ב-21:49 מאת MAROS <maros+icecast at soitron.eu>: > Hello dear icecast fans, > > In my company we have voip phones, that can also play OGG stream /online > radio

Genuis karl! The change sorted it. Now when the source disconnects, the winamp stream just stopped (and went onto the next stream in the playlist in my case) Cheers for your help, Oddsock, could you build a compiled windows version of icecast with this fix (and also the relay on demand default setting as enabled, also fixed by karl) Whenever you have a spare moment, it would make me very very

icecast and smp
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, ~ I have just installed Ice cast and I really like it. I want to stream a radio station which expects 6000 concurrent listener. I was thinking of using an SMP machine with Linux running. Does Ice cast make use of SMP, does anyone have sizing references . - -- Taymour A El Erian System Division Manager CNA, MCSE, CCNA, LPIC T.E. Data E-mail:

icecast crash (segv)
Hi all, I'm experiencing a systematic crash with icecast2 when I goes in this case (tested with debian 2.3.1-5 2.3.1-6 and latest trunk) When there is more than ~1400 clients connected and a mountpoint that was not relaying goes online it crash. Without this I can go up to 5000 clients without problems. Changing the number of threadpool does'nt change anything. here is the term log:

bit/bytes <= broadcasting : the state of art ?
Hi, Our webradio (Let's Go Zik - http://www.letsgozik.com) works with donation and partenship. I think it's the only way to keep a webradio alive for the moment... We are making our radio in a associative way... It's quite hard to "find" listeners. Currently we are nearly broadcasting for 60 simultaneous listeners (and approx. 5000 differents listeners per months)...

Icecast dies
I'm getting strange behavior with this build. My relays do not work. If I change back to the build on 7/13/05, everything works. However with the new build I get this error message: "[2005-08-01 10:06:16] EROR format-mp3/format_mp3.c Incorrect metadata format, ending stream" Any ideas why? Hi Oddsock, Like Clement, I am sure Nullsoft is still "offering" AOL's bandwidth since I think Nullsoft is not part of AOL anymore. About the new broadcasting methods, is the multicast technology already available? I have heard only few providers are equipped with multicast enabled routers. What about p2p streaming, is it really reliable? When I see Peercast's statistics, only
