Little Liveice Help
Hi,
I have one question, which is really stupid, but I should probably go ahead
and ask. I am trying to take a live feed and stream it. The problem is, it
works when I plug it into the 'Mic' input of my soundcard, but It doesnt
work when I plug it into the 'Line-In' input of the soundcard. I mean the
liveice doesnt stream anything in that case. I am usin 'NO_MIXER"

multiple liveice sources
Hi,
I am trying to stream two different sources with two soundcards using
liveice and icecast, all from single Linux box. Can anyone tell me if this
is possible?
I tried creating two sets in the liveice config file where I specified
different devices. No erros but the latter source was streamed on both
mount points. Running two instances of liveice talking to one instance of
icecast failed.

If you want to hear what it sounds like, take a listen. I'll have it up for
another 20 mins or so.

Liveice & Icecast...help
Yes, I downloaded the aumix utility and am using it now. Set line in to %50
then %25 and to record but still the same thing. I'm streaming from the
line in on the sound card which is being fed from a portable radio nearby.
I get the distortion whether I have the audio fed into 'line in' or not.

No sound (ices-2.0.0, RH9)
Hello,
I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.0 and Ices 2.0.0 on a Compaq
EvoN600C running Redhat 9. Everything runs quite well (no error loggued by
Icecast or Ices), the Ices stream is seen as a source by Icecast and friends
are able to listen to my radio (I see them as listeners in Icecast admin)...
the problem is that they ear only silence ! Looks like the streaming is OK
but Ices could

Yes, I did : in fact, aumix from the command line behaves exactly like the
KMix GUI : when I change the PCM or Mic level with aumix, KMix shows the new
settings. But even with aumix set to the good values (PCM to 100%), ices get
no sound.

How do I change the record volume. I am doing all this from the console, no
GUI. I have not seen anything in any of the config files to set the record
volume.

2 ISP connection sharing problem
Hi all,
I have a similar question like many asked before I know but Please
help as i cant figure out where the problem is and how should I tackle.
I have 2 ISP connections. I want to share the bandwidth from both. I have
copied the script from many places and created my own after changes. Problem
is that only one connection is utilized at a time. Not both working. ratio

SSL encryption with icecast2
Hi there,
is it possible to use such encryption like SSL/TLS for authenticating
users on a mountpoint? I can't find somethin like that in the
docmentation and it would be nice to have such a mechanism like that,
because all passwords will be transmitted in PLAIN text. This is not
very secure, because anyone can see the usernames and passwords in his
sniffer program.
Would be pleased if

Run the signal through a Compressor/Limiter before sending it to your
soundcard. I use Behringer Ultra-Dyne Pro DSP9024. Very nice. If you
want to buy it look here:

where does linein writes to
I have tried broadcasting from both SuSE Linux and Slackware and with various programs being the last one Tim`s Mixice (which is a perl script that works along with a program called catdsp). Looking at the source I saw that this programs, both of them, try to open /dev/dsp.
Now, my question is if /dev/dsp is the standard device for the line-in of the audio card?
I have tried, as suggested in

XMMS with liveice-xmms plugin
Am I making the right assumptions.... I run icecast and then only need to
run xmms with the plug in enabled to stream to the net.... Or do I need to
run LiveIce as well???
When I try running liveice and xmms together xmms locks up.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Make sure you select line-in as the record source with aumix.
This is different from the record levels.

Icecast and LiveIce-XMMS Working!
Previously I mentioned some problems I was having getting LiveIce and
Icecast working.
Everything is working so I wanted to get the archives updated with the
solutions.
The first was just my player I was streaming to needed a much larger
buffer configured (stupid, but I'm just starting up with streaming).
The problem I had with LiveIce streams being unlistenable was due to the
wrong input
