voice quality of Aastra 480i CT and cordless
Hi Folks, Looking for feedback on the cordless phones with the Aastra 480i CT handset. Is voice quality comparable to standard consumer residential 2.4GHz cordless phones in the US$30 - $50 price range, or better/worse? How about handset and speakerphone quality for the main phone? Seems like there have been various big issues with firmware in past, but is it pretty stable now? Thanks,

Hello, I have a few users using Polycom 501's and some are using the "forward" function on the phone. TDM2400p and HW echo canceller
Do the zaptel drivers need to be told >NOT< to use the software echo canceller when using a TDM2400p card with hardware echo canceller, or does the driver figure this out by itself? wget from within asterisk?
What would be the simplest way to retrieve information form a CNAM database that provides http based query responses? Does an application or script already exist that does this? Basically, I want to do a wget of a URL that contains the callerID number as a variable, and assign the returned text to another variable which can be used to set the caller ID name. Any suggestions?

Rsync of LVM Snapshots copies whole file
Hello, anybody has a clue why this happens? The scenario: Each night I create LVM snapshot of my volume which contains some virtual disk images (VirtualBox VDIs). Then I rsync the content of one of the snapshot directories to a backup server. Each file size is between 1.3 GB and 6GB. I run the following commmand: sudo -u rsyncbackup rsync -avzP --exclude-from /home/rsyncbackup/excludefile -e

Segfault in ices
Did you create the playlist on the linux server or bring it over from a Windows machine? I had a similar problem when I was taking moving some playlists. I ended up ditching the old playlists (after all kinds of searching/replacing) and re-created them on the linux server. One good way to do this is to use find. 'find /home/audiotron/music -print' did the trick for me. Wade

Hi,     I would like to run Mongrel as a proxy to apache globally.  With no input needed, all the customer  has to do is install there app, and put the proxy commands, in there .htaccess.  Is there a way I can do this.  I am having great luck running them as a single account. Thank you Chris
