ices, alsa, dsnoop plugin a metadata update
Hello, I found a bug by metadata updating in ices-2.0.0. I use icecast2 server for streaming stations of Czech Radio. Czech Radio prefers streaming in both formats mp3 and ogg. So - I'm using DarkIce as a live audio streamer, which does encoding to mp3 and ogg streams together. I would like to insert textual information about actual streaming program, but DarkIce does not support it. So -

What's best practice for serving multiple formats from a remote icecast server?
We are running an icecast2 server in conjunction with our LPFM radio station and need a little advice. We have been serving a single 128k ogg stream from a remote server and would like to make additional formats available (e.g. mp3, lower bandwidth, etc.) I would think this has been done a few thousand times and there would be a "best practice" but I can't find it. Our basic

the "Adv. Rec"-option in the oddcast-plugin for winamp doesn't work on my machine (winxp with winamp 2.81 and the latest oddcast version). it seams to be buggy. i can enable it (green led lights), but nothing happens. and when i disable it winamp crashes down. there is also no configuration to select a soundcard input channel (i am using rme hdsp with 8 analog, 9 digital

Frauenhofer signing off on mp3, ogg stream player for Macs?
Jack, I am using AAC+ encoded by Darkice and distributed on Icecast2 on a Ubuntu server. I had to install a number of open source libraries and compile darkice from source. No licence. non-free means you build each one stand alone and can't re distribute. Quality is excellent, and it runs on most players. I kept some notes [see below] I am using AAC+ to feed a couple of LPFM sites with

oddcast DSP is what you want, it supports live input (called Advanced Recording) and does support streaming to Peercast...It currently does not support Vorbis metadata for live recording (since metadata for vorbis streaming is inserted into the ogg stream, as opposed to how it's done for mp3 in which the metadata is updated on the server via URL calls)... anyway, it's the closest thing to

Darkice "Buffer overrun": how to troubleshoot?
We're running a darkice/icecast configuration to stream our LPFM radio station (and to provide a quick-n-dirty studio-transmitter-link). (See config data below.) We're getting intermittent "Buffer overrun!" errors out of darkice, and we associate these with interruptions in our audio stream that are quite noticeable. These occur anywhere from once to ten times per hour.

Is there a way to run Darkice without an audio interface? On Tue, 16 May 2017 10:25:43 +1200, you wrote: >Jack, > >I am using AAC+ encoded by Darkice and distributed on Icecast2 on a >Ubuntu server. Auto Archiving function for Icecast.
A remote dump feature of icecast. Ok I'll see if I can find any info on the dump feature. Very clear description. Thanks. Hi all there. I am trying to set up an icecast2 server (wich is already running) to send some stream mount point to another server. I mean, my server is streaming at /radio1.mp3 mount point. We can listen it at http://myserver:8000/radio1.mp3; so, i want to know if is there any way to "clone" that strem and send it to another server, such as http://giss.tv:8000/radio1.mp3 I have been

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
Right, BUTT can be set to push to studio, and studio's IP is fixed. It doesn't appear that Icecast Master can push to a Slave at studio, Slave at studio has to pull from Master, and Master's IP address is not fixed. So for our remotes, BUTT is the better choice for that, and all the other reasons you mention. Plus, when you are recording eight bands in a 12-hour broadcast day,

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
It does not matter what IP BUTT has, it sends to the fixed IP at the studio on port [ 8000 ] with a mount like /liveBroadcast.mp3 On 21/04/17 11:05, Jack Elliott wrote: > > Ha! Low-bitrate audio encode/stream application
Hello Thomas, You are correct - the application is basically for secure remote access to ham CW (morse code) station. I believe the solution will be based on low bit rate MP3 streaming for receiver side (MP3 allows use with existing CODEC in client side, which could include Win CE or Linux palmtop type form factor, and the audio source would just be "voice grade" material on a mono,

Streaming vorbis support
Hi! I'm setting up a streaming audio server for the student radio here in Stockholm. I'm of course going to primarily use Ogg/Vorbis, but I'd like to know how well Ogg/Vorbis streaming is supported on different platforms. I know it works well Windows (for example w/ recent Winamps) and Unices (XMMS, ogg123 etc.) but I'm not so sure about other platforms, most importantly Mac-OS

DarkIce and archiving things
Hello, After solving my previous problem with DarkIce, I have another question. I'm streaming for a radio station, and we want to archive our shows. I'm writing a little script that talks to our schedule database and "rotates" mp3 files much the same way one might rotate syslog. My problem is, DarkIce only lets you specify a /remote/ file to save, not a /local/ file. I know I

Select mp3 files not playing Chrome
I am new to the list and Icecast, a web developer and I support a local non-profit radio station who recently lost their engineer handling stream recordings using Icecast/Darkice. All has been fine and I have now a bit of experience with doing the recent schedule changes, only updated cron jobs, but familiarized myself with streamripper being used for recordings. I do manage the ruby scripts
