No Duplicate Users - Patch
I'd like to commit the following patch which adds a new option to the htpasswd client authenticator. This option <option name="allow_duplicate_users"> specifies wether or not the same username can connect to a mountpoint more than once. This is pretty much a required feature for any decent use of the listener authentication capabilities of icecast. thoughts ? comments ?

fallback time
Hi I have an icecast server that relay a remote stream, with a local fallback mountpoint. When I unplug the network cable (just for test), icecast falls back to the local mountpoint after a few seconds. When I re-plug, I have to wait 1or 2 minutes before moving back to the remote stream. Why is it so long ? I'm using the default parameters, with a 128 kbps stream. <icecast>

Problem with fallback on 2.31 on Windows XP
Could you post the config you used with comments? Currently there is at least one closing comment tag without a opening tag as far as I can see, which is confusing. If that is the file you are using, maybe you accidentally commented it out? Despite that it should works, but all of the paths in the config need to be adjusted for Windows! Thomas, Thanks for your quick reply. I am looking at htpasswd. I am using 2.41 on Windows 7 with BUTT. I have read the documentation but I don't understand where to enter this in the config file. <mount> <mount-name>/example.ogg</mount-name> <authentication type="htpasswd"> <option name="filename" value="myauth"/> <option

listener authentication
Thomas and Phillip, Thanks so much for your help. I have it working now but, is there a way to setup that when the user clicks on the m3u to play that it would open a player in the web page instead of creating the m3u file then having to open it in windows media player as some of the time WMP wont play the file. Problem with fallback on 2.31 on Windows XP
If this isn't supported, then I apologize for the disruption, I'll just tell my customer / client / friend it's time to seriously rethink what they're trying to do. If support is possible, here's the problem: I took a running icecast.xml file from a configuration that works. It has live, backup, and listener (called /broadband) mount points. A continuously running stream

user Authentication - fail to add an user
Hi fellow streamers ;-) I am trying to add an user authenticated mount point to our Icecast2.2 server. I include the relevant section of my config file below. <mount> <mount-name>/stream1</mount-name> <max-listeners>100</max-listeners> <fallback-mount>/test</fallback-mount> <fallback-override>1</fallback-override>

Icecast relay with backup - loops backup for too long
My listeners connect to a publicly accessible Icecast server with the config below. Between broadcasts it uses a fallback mp3, which loops. During broadcasts it relays from a local Icecast server that I broadcast to (config also below). I am aiming for approx 30-45 seconds buffering, as the connection from public to local icecast server is 'less than ideal'. The set up is working fine

relay icecast to shoutcast
Hello List Having great trouble relaying an icecast2 mp3 stream to a shoutcast server. My client program successfully streams to icecast which is listening on port 7000. I can listen to this stream with mozilla and xmms with no problems. I can also stream my client directly to the shoutcast server but it makes the client unstable (which is why i'm attempting a relay). The shoutcast server is

Pathing syntax for icecast.xml in Windows
Hi, Icecast.xml shows a sample path to a mountpoint fallback file as <fallback-mount>/example2.ogg</fallback-mount> Under Windows, will this next work? <fallback-mount>"C:\Users\username\Desktop\foldername\subfoldername\fallback.mp3"</fallback-mount> Also, the usage of a fallback mount is only shown in the sample icecast.xml under a commented-out section,

Exiting WE SCRUBBED THE ICECAST.XML FILE AND VALIDATED IT AND NO ERROR WERE FOUND...WE THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK OVER THE XML CONFIG FILE INCLUDED IN THE EMAIL AND SEE IF MAYBE OUR ISSUES FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE ICECAST SERVER SUCCESSFULLY ARE HIDDEN
